My family is poor. We eat alot of carbohydrates and fatty food. I was considering eating nothing but soda crackers and water to fill me up on a daily basis once i begin training. Would this cause a deficiency?

you could cut out soda to save money, you don't really need soda.
Jesus, really?
Are you too fucking stupid to research a healthy and cheap diet?

Poor man here, in order of importance you need to eat as many of these as you can as often as you can:
milk, cheapest meat in your country (in mine it's ham), lentils, beans, pasta, oats, nuts, rice, bread.
You literally can't afford to get lean/shredded but you can definitely afford to gain mass.

A pound of chicken is really cheap anon. And a bag of rice will last and individual weeks, maybe months.

What? Wouldn't it be the opposite? It's much cheaper to lose fat than gain muscle..

I got you baby. Buy a bigass bag of red lentils (not like picrelated... get like 20kg or something)
Cook them. Add a whole bunch of raw crudely chopped onions (which cost next to nothing when you buy 10lbs bags and add a nice crisp texture).

Why did your lentils turn into mush?
I cook lentils once a week, green ones. They always retain their shape.
