I had to for a year in my work's gym, because the place was run by cardio bunnies who thought anything to do with free weights was too dangerous. The second I got out of there, I had to deload my bench like crazy to avoid blowing up my rotator cuff.

Not him but it doesn't work your stabilizers and forces you into abnormal movement because the bar is locked in place. What you put up on the Smith also doesn't translate to actual bench.
