Because it's really hard to be in the Olympics

I bet nobody on /fit/ is an Olympic athlete.

I don't workout

I got slight shoulder impingement and don't know how to avoid it especially on snatches. I love Olympic lifts though.

because I am not elite asian male with perfect genes and being trained from 5 years old, and not on massive ammounts of world class steroids, medical suppervision, etc.

I mean, you can look like shit and be an olympic weightlifter too. There are also lower weight classes in powerlifting that look equally good.

Personally I would never do either to look aesthetic. Both are good conditioning exercises and great sports that the very elite flourish in. I would say that weightlifting is much more demanding though.

Dude. Even the largest weight class (105 kg) is still more aesthetic than the largest weight class for powerlifting.
