Just started rock climbing (bouldering) with some friends and am having an absolute blast. I'm doing PPL 6 days a week, should I edit my routine to include 2/3 days of climbing? Should I climb on non-lifting days? Does anyone here have experience with this? Thanks <3
>>
>>41550272
Bump.

Anyone?
>>
Don't climb on lifting days
>>
I'd say the biggest thing is not climbing the day before diddly day.
Climbing seriously is great, but if you're trying to build mass I'd keep it to twice a week, should be fine if you consume enough calories, but just go easy in the arms the next day
>>
>>41550620
What is it about deadlifts? Just that they use shoulder/back?

Yeah it's an absolute blast, I'm gonna have a hard time staying away if friends go but 2/3 times a week seems reasonable. I just wished they worked your abs, I'd have a reasonable body by summer.

Climb overhangs and slabs, really hard on your entire core. If you have the finger strength.

lifting should only compliment some sport, make your lifting climbing specific and focus on bouldering
>>
>>41550272
I'm starting to climb as well. Travelling in Europe right now and it seems to be pretty big over here.
>>
>>41551508
This is so needlessly stupid and conplicated
Kys
>>
>>41550272
you should lift on non-climbing days
get you priorities straight, op
>>
>>41551179
terrible program dumbass
climbing isn't strength training, it's basically only endurance
your program is a surefire way in becoming push dominant and completely falling behind on any pull lift
>>
Op stop listening to these retards
If you have the time just go climbing after the gym
over training is literally impossible so don't worry about it, just eat a shit ton
>>
>>41551630
Oh and do lead climbing it's way more fun
>>
>>41551625
Wat. Climbing is almost entirely power endurance and strength.
>>
>>41551625
>pull lift
So you go for heavy triples in chinups on pull day?

>>41551691
Wrong.
That's the case when you're only a climber
When you lift it's only a test of endurance
I've focused on climbing and lifting on separate time spans and have gone from 60 kilo climber to 85 kilo weightlifter
Even the most mediocre lifter can out perform climbers on paths that are strength dependent (the ones that rely on big movements on your upper body, not ones that rely on really small holds)
The crux of being a weightlifter and climbing is any path that is either really fucking long or ones that have those holds that literally only lightweights could support themselves on
>>
>>41551700
>not going heavy on pendlay rows or weighted pull ups
never gonna make it
>>
>>41551758
There are pro climbers who weight 80+ kg. And I doubt the middle part of your post too (also dynos and jugs are pretty rare).
>>
>>41551775
yes they exist
they're just always speed climbers because they sacrifice endurance for speed
what are dynos and jugs btw?
