Hit a new PR today deadlifted 6 plates 315lb/143kg for 3 reps. First time at 6 plates!!!
Anyway two gym friends come over to congratulate and we are chatting and they both tell me my shoes are garbage. I wear super thin converse that have 0 support. So /fit/ do I need better shoes to deadlift heavy? If so shoe recs? Friends suggested Chuck 2s.

Those shoes are perfect for weight lifting imo
Tell your friends you're too poor or cool for other shoes
>6 plates
you mean 3 plates
but yeah those shoes are fine

I've deadlifted in Chucks, Vans, Adipowers, Crossfit Lite TRs, in socks, and barefoot. My favorite to DL in are these Reebok minimalist shoes. They're like a cross between those toe shoes and DL slippers.

Any significant difference socks vs shoes anon?

socks are slippery

Lmao you dumb nigger you count the plate on one side. Bar is obviously inferred

For fucks sake I've got it was just being clear.
Can we please talk about shoes (;
>>41549133
This is some weak stale covert bait.

chuck 2's dont have the hard sole that the 1's have
Shoes with padding and shit are to help with sudden shock like running, deadlift pressure is not sudden shock so wearing padding with your shoes won't do anything.
It's better to wear flatter shoes anyway because it keeps your feet flat on the ground, helps your balance and shit or something

No, you don't got it
