That's true, but the vast majority of people do something wrong in the beginning. It's pretty rare for someone to eat enough and correctly, do the exercises with proper form, work hard and consistently enough, be on a proper routine and so on from the beginning. The eating part is probably where most people fail, followed by having a routine with too much bullshit and thus not enough focus to make optimal progress.

Your initial body weight can change dramatically during the first year, so that's not really an issue. Being 5'4 is more of an issue, but I'm sure it's still possible even if it's a little harder.

Well its about 6 months in, youre doing OK but could do alot better. Focus on strength my dude. Eat well and chalk that ass up.
Ive been liftinf for about 3 months lifts are:
Squat 115kg.(253 freedom units)
Deadlift 125kg(275 freedoms)
Bench 85kg(187 americas)
OHP 60kg (132 lbs).
I do 5/3/1 with accesories but I eat way too little.
BW is about 180lbs.
