In metric weight lifting the bar is zero similar to how freezing is 0 C instead of some wonky number like 32 F. It makes it easier to math. I don't know why American use stupid numbers.

you think you guys are weak? i used to lift but got an awful wrist injury so theyre still weak. started gym again a few weeks ago now. literally started bench and squat with bar only. deadlift is like 45 kg for 5 reps. ohp i'm not sure but like its one of those smaller barbells that has 5 kg on both ends and with that i do like 8 reps. bench has progressed so much that i can do 25 kg 5 times. yeah i know, pathetic. but ill keep going at it.

Bar is 20kg. Each big plate is 20kg. You put one plate on either side of the bar. 20+20+20 = 60. 20+20+20+20+20 = 100.

Deadlift 110kg
OHP 40kg

And my questions is - how the fuck am I not suppose to fail at SL? I mean, I wanted to start it in 2 weeks, when I finish my current cycle. I put the numbers in a spreadsheet and it tells me by the end of week 12, I will be squatting 132,5kg for 5 reps. Also the website says, that if I fail in those 12 weeks, it means I have dun fucked it up. I can believe in adding 10kg to OHP and bench in 12 weeks, but with the squat it looks just enormous, too good to be true.

your bench is lacking too compared to OHP

olylifter?
>>
178 cm, 92 kg (yeah, fat). Stats: bench 125, OHP 82.5, squat 150, deadlift 195.

Half of the men at my current gym are stronger than me, just last week saw a dude OHP 130 kg like it was nothing. 200 + deadlifts are also common as shit. Repping 160 kg on a bench as if it was nothing. Don't know if it's demoralizing or motivating.
>>
>>41540957

>>
>>41541487
Nigga that OHP is way stronger than the rest
>>
>>41541498
130 OHP is world class (sure it wasn't a push press, which is still late advanced tier in that case?). 130 kg OHP is easily comparable to, say, 300 kg DL
>>
>>41541583
The guy weighed about 120 kilos (estimate, ain't gonna go all homo and touch n poke him while asking questions). Tall as fuck (can't even estimate), probably one of the strongmen of my country (don't follow the sport).
>>
>>41541595
Then you're in the right gym

How long lifting?
>>
>>41541595
tall as fuck makes it harder, and 120 kg wouldn't be that heavy for a giant strongman. I think Brian Alsruhe (who is also into strongman) has recently hit a 140 kg OHP which is insane at 6' 240 lbs.

still I'll take it, he's probably an absolute beast. Is it a strongman gym? Sadly there's no such scene in my country.

It's more a bodybuilder gym (loads of heavy dumbells and machines), but also caters towards strongmen - has a log, that deadlift contraption (y'know, the one that has handles and resembles a cart), and there's always a spare barbell, even in prime time.

It's the second gym with strong people i've been in. The first one has one of strongest men in my country training there (top three in strongmen contests consistently). There's a rumor that a conventional (read: DYEL) gym didn't give him a membership in fear that he'll destroy all the barbells.

Squat is 0 can't squat with the bar but can do a few holding a 5kg plate
OHP is 20kg Just the oly bar no weights sometimes add 3kg on but still that's nothing right.
bench is a total of 35kg including the bar
dead-lift is 35kg again, just like bench with the bar.

I so badly want to find out if I can lift more but I'm so worried about injuring myself as I don't have a spot (homegymfag here)

I'm much weaker than I appear, so I contribute any aesthetics to my lifting longevity (5+ years)
I gain fat super easily so I either maintain or manage a calorie deficit, essentially mainting the body I've had for several years now. When I bulk I gain about 10lbs, a few of muscle that disappear as soon as I try to cut the fat.

Man, I have been working out for nearly 2 years now and my lifts are just garbage (to be fair, I was a recovering fatty for the first year)
1 plate bench
2 plate squat
2.5 plate deadlift
0 plate OHP

My left shoulder is really messed up, and it's not from lifting. It has this weird range of motion and a kind of "snag" if I try to move it in certain directions. I try to keep my gains symmetrical, so I won't do anything with my right arm that I can't do with my left arm.
My left arm is my ultimate gains goblin.
Any ideas how to overcome or do I just have to live with poor gains due to one (1) muscle (group)?
>>
Used to 1RM 142kg on squat, stopped lifting for a while and can barely get 2 plates
