do i just swap in the nuckols dys where the c6w would have me doing upper body stuff, or do i do them "on top" of each other, even if it means doing a c6w lower body workout on the same day as an nuckols upper body workout?

tfw wasted so much time constantly trying to run a session LP, I think I'm just a genetic dead end

Can't squat more than 85kg 3x5 adding weight every session without form breaking down, maybe I should just try weekly progression instead of reaching 2pl8 with shit form and having to deload
>>
>>41533142
Do you have any Fitness whatsoever? What kind of cardiovascular based you have? Can you perform basic bodyweight exercises? Are you eating and sleeping properly?

Sounds like you're worthless piece of shit personally but maybe there's something else at play
>>
>>41533142
Switch to 3x3 next session where you maintain good form. Try again, if that doesn't work switch to 3x1 and lp till your form breaks down. Retry 3x5 after form breaks down

He's doing baby weight he doesn't need to do 3x1 he needs to do a hundred bodyweight squats a day and fix his unathletic shit

Just lifted for the first time in nearly two years.

I'm very sore.

AMA.
>>
>>41533201
I'm eating enough and sleeping enough for other lifts although I always feel tired despite everything being fine with blood test.

I don't have any cardio base.

Yes I can do basic movements.

My other stats are:
70kg bench 3x5
150kg deadlift 1x5
72kg bw

Is it possible that I just need to try weekly progression instead of session for squat? I add 2.5kg weekly to bench and 2.5-5kg to deadlift.
>>
I fucked up my leg and doctor after checking it out said I have pulled gastrocenemius + something more and I should off squats and dls for month-half a month

time to up my upperbody gains

benching 3x a week and what more? Im going to do rowing same way following powerliftingtowin or ss style of routine, shit ton of pullups, overhead perssing and arms?

some good routine for this to up my gains?

I also will use this time for a cut as my bf is now 16,4

want to drop down way down to 10,2-10,6

>>
>>41533367
Real thread here >>41533052

If you can't recover fast enough to put weight on the bar every day, then you'll have to slow down your progression to once a week, eat more and recover better, or build some general cardiovascular fitness so your body recovers more quickly
>>
>>41533428
Its possible that my genetics are so shit tier that I cant progress every session at sub2pl8?

Does this mean I'll always be weak or can I still reach 4pl8 eventually but maybe with weekly progression?
>>
>>41533478
I have no idea. If you are going to set around day blaming your genetics though then you're probably going to have limited potential anyways

If you don't have a background in manual labor or team sports then you're going to have to spend some time making up ground to manhood

Currently running sheiko intermediate medium load.
Can I run 37v2 again or should you follow up with 31. Don't want to max since my work schedule is kinda irregular the next couple of weeks.

Can I just add 2.5 kg to 37v2? I def. feel stronger even though I'm kinda overreached. Getting comfy with heavish weights.

Help pls. If I cut down a weightclass I would be able to set a national record for one of my lifts - that is if I keep my current strength levels.

It's doable if I go full autismo and plan out every single meal, no?
>>
>>41533478
I used to be in the same boat as you.
You have been decieve by the general lifting community and the ss meme.
You have to understand that most people who do SS or other beginner programs and squat 3 plate at the end aren(y like you. They played football or some other sports, are generally athletic, have been lifting casually or years, etc.

If you start out as a skinny un athletic guy, with no experience, SS won't get you to 2 pl8. Because what you need mroe than anything now is muscle, you simply need more muscle mass and SS isn't going to give it to you. The volume is way to low. SS is good for getting people who are already muscalur to effencietly use those muscles. To learn the movements. Those are the guys getting 4 plates after their 'first year', but they have been doing sports their entire life!

Don't get fooled by the fitness community, when starting out skinny and weak progress is going to be slow. YOu will need intermediate routines for wheights that other poeple did in their first weeks. But remember, you just started, you can't expect to make the same progress as people who have been sporting their entire life and are already ripped.

Set more realistic goals.

Take a look at Symmetric strength. Their strength standards and the descriptions of their classification have been very accurate for me so far.
Set realistic goals and enjoy the process.

I've heard that you are very wealthy so I am sure that you can take a picture on your phone of very high quality. Thank you much
>>
>>41532393
Would recommend splitting up the work, although doing days 1 and 3 with the lower days and having day 2 as a lighter/recovery day is doable, it's just a lot harder and you won't be able to get as much upper body work in because you'll be exhausted from squatting, benching, then deadlifting in the same day, especially for the first 2 weeks.
>>
>>41534023
No. He's above the national record at his current weight class, isn't he?

A) asking fat retard about how greg nuckols novice program works (therefore proving you're a weak novice)
B) obsessing over kermit for many posts, clearly inferiority complex on account of him being stronger than you (therefore proving you're a weak novice)
C) Obsessing over me for 3 hours clearly inferiority complex on account of me being wealthier than your entire poverty family put together

It is a 3 day bench program. You do the top left block on day 1, the top middle on day 2, and the amrap in the top right on day 3, and so on. You can add LTEs, pec flyes, CGBP, curls, chins, pull ups, rows, etc. Don't add too much to the middle day each week because it's more of a recovery day to prep for the amrap next session.

If you have no interest in dealing with the IPF and their bullshit, the Rogue belt is perfectly acceptable. I used one of the Rogue Echo belts before I had to get a BestBelt to do a USAPL meet.

The only difference between the two is that the Echo belt was a lot stiffer at first, and took some doing to get on and off, even though I never wear a belt super tight. Otherwise, they're pretty much identical, and the IPF is full of shit.

I use a 10 mm, never used a 13 mm. I know some people might suggest a 3 inch belt for deadlifts, to better fit on your torso, but I don't do that and never really felt I had a problem with a 4 inch belt.

The Rogue belt isn't on the whitelist because they didn't pay the IPF enough Jew Gold, possibly because Rogue has better shit to do than deal with some small potatoes lolfed in a fake sport. Like make crazy money off CrossFit's fake sport.

It's a total farce. Respectable sport leagues (think the PGA Tour) don't approve specific brands just because they pay money. They set down equipment specifications and let you use whatever you want provided they fall within those specifications, like people who give the slightest fuck about the integrity of the competition might do.

I'm 99% sure they just use the USGA equipment standards, and the USGA themselves have a list of clubs known to conform to those standards. Neither has anything saying you couldn't play an otherwise conforming Nikent driver, if you had one lying around for some reason.

I'd believe the PGA has some spiel about what is and what isn't an appropriate logo (Phil's Mercedes-Benz logos are fine, I imagine they'd shit a brick if he tried to have a Jack Daniels logo or some such).

Even if the 1000 guy decided not the cut his stats would be shit for the higher weightclass so he really would have no choice but to cut

I posted this in an off-brand /plg/ yesterday but the thread got pruned for some reason shortly after.

Not sure if this is the right thread for it, but I was wondering if y’all had any advice on correcting my DL form.
I have this annoying habit of isolating the leg and hip portions, rather than doing them together. So I’m just pulling all the weight with my lower back for the second half of the lift.
Webbum shows it. Pardon the rotation.

Any tips or mental tricks y’all suggest to help me do the two movements at once?

I know, working on it.

a few thing:

- Stop dropping the wheight at the top.
- start with your hips higher. Now you are dropping your hips very low, and raising them high when you start pulling. Just start in the high hip position.
- start with your shoulders closer to, but not in front of bar
- use your lats to keep the bar close to your legs
- Start pulling with your back when the bar is above the knee.

You're trying to start the movement with your hips too low, similar to a squat. Then you automatically shoot the hips up first, to their stronger position, and then lock out. You should focus on setting up with the bar directly above your midfoot, below your scapula, and your hips higher, while still keeping a neutral back. If you can't keep a neutral back with higher hips, there may be some muscle imbalance or tightness, I'm not exactly sure which ones. But most likely you're setting up with your hips too low consciously.

Start higher, as others mentioned. High hips are generally better, and you can watch your hips shoot up as soon as you start pulling (they're trying to get into a more advantageous position - why fight it?)

There's no reason to pull so fast. If you're learning, doing the movement slow is very beneficial. It forces you to feel out every inch of the movement, and more importantly it punishes you for being in the wrong position (this is why I think pause / tempo deadlifts and squats are GOAT)

The things you're going to immediately feel from this are thay your hips will need to be higher from the start, and your upper back and lats are going to need to tighten up in order to bring the barbell closer to your shins (will be necessary, hopefully should become apparent when you slow the movement down)

I agree that you should stop dropping the weight for now. I have no problem with it, but I think there's value in feeling the other side of the lift.

Thanks y’all. Great advice.

>hips higher
Will do. I wasn’t feeling that tightness you get from a good setup. I’ve seen Rip’s video with Art of Manliness where he talks about not dropping the hips. I was ignoring it at the time. I think this is much of my problem. (Didn’t help that the guy I asked for help kept telling me to drop my hips)

>shoulder/scapula position
This probably goes with the hip placement thing. Higher hips will allow me to get my shoulders closer.

>slow down and get your form right at each position
Alright, but I’ll probably practice with lower weight then.

>use lats to keep the bar close
This is the one part I don’t quite get. I activate my lats to ensure my back doesn’t round, but I don’t see how I could use it to reposition the bar.

>quit dropping the weight
Gotcha. I normally go through the reverse movement. I was just frustrated with myself (you can see me shake my head at the end) and wanted to check out the footage. This is not my normal practice.

>read SS
Will do. Got it for Christmas, but I keep putting it off.

hows this a bad thing. elite lifters to this aswell. Slow eccentrics will fuck up the disc. Unless you mean that he would get redlighted in a comp

Das gud mang. You have the right mindset. It'll come. Reps reps reps!

Should scapula & lats pulling bar closer are closely linked. I wouldn't freak too much about pulling the bar closer, because if you're keeping a tight back and your hips are in the right spot with no lumbar flexion, then odds are you're already doing it.

Gud luck mang, ask more questions if you need later

>>41542625
Nah. Doing tempo eccentric deadlifts with lots of weight might be bad, but just letting the bar come down naturally shouldn't be an issue.

Yes, it will.

Kek. Rip seems to know what he's talking about in his videos, so I thought I'd give his book a read.

Nope. Just dropped it when I was done.

Why does TM have such low deadlift volume?

It's still ridiculously lower back and hamstring dominant, can't think of a single actually good squatter that squats like that.

The Rippetoe way certainly is.

I really wonder how it is supposed to carry over to deadlift also if it's not.
>>
>>41543018
dude even if you squat upright it still carries over to the deadlift

the deadlift is basicly a half squat with some upperback involvement anyway, just do some rows for volume or something

Hey /plg/, its time for me deload.
But I also already started my cutting last week.
Should I still deload this week or its a bad idea? Is cutting + deload a bad combination? I mostly reduced the volume and kept the intensity of my workouts.
