You will lose muscle, this is inevetable. A high quality diet with plenty of protein helps minimize the losses.

That being said, if you go under your resting metabolic rate, your body will start eating itself in ways that will actually hurt you if you keep lifting.

Your body constantly builds and destroys muscle mass. You will never not lose muscle while eating at any surplus or deficit.

Eating more protein simply lets you build more muscle and repair damaged tissue faster

So the answer is infinite both positive and negative. Adding steroids for example will mean you can gain muscle on a deficit.

I wish my body would have told me this. Went from 24% to 15% over the last few months and my arms have stayed the same size. Also, my lifts have stayed the same size and I've been increasing my lifts by nearly 2.5lbs/week too. Almost at lmao3/4/5. Already hit 5. Am I unknowingly injecting my ass in my sleep?
