I think your maintenance is higher than 2700 and you haven't been counting correctly. The only way to really know what your maintenance calories are is to track your calories very closely for a couple weeks and weigh yourself every day to take the average change. Whenever I'm not eating out with people I weigh basically everything and log all my calories.

Here's a pic of my calories and weight over time from last year while I was bulking pretty aggressively.

Yeah those calculators are usually for people who don't lift or don't have very much muscle mass. If you're a big guy maybe try sticking to around 2500/day and see how your weight changes.

Also while cutting it's easy to feel like you don't look any different since there isn't much of a visible difference between 13-17% bf or so. As long as the scale is going down you are making progress on your cut.

Just be sure to eat lots of protein and don't slash your volume so you can retain as much muscle mass as possible.

I think it's more likely you aren't precisely tracking your calories and weight change over time. I've literally been autistically doing it since I started lifting.

Remember that when you initially up your calories, you'll have my glycogen in your muscles, more food and water in your body, etc so your weight will initially spike a little. If you strictly stuck to 3k/day for a month I bet you'd lose some weight.

I need at least 7 minutes rest between my squats. I usually take 8, then put on belt and drink and go.
For bench I can do with 6 or 7 minutes.
Then for deadlift I need a good 5 minutes after warm-ups. And also a good 5-10 minutes between each exercise. Then do curls and shit.

Don't do your heavy deads after your volume squats, this is like the oldest and gayest iteration of TM that exists. And I think you're resting way too long and going too heavy, seems like you'd be better served by doing more sets rather than such heavy weight that a set of five knocks you out for seven minutes.

I just posted this in qttdtot, but i want your guys perspective on this.

I don't want to squat or deadlift anymore, I do not want to risk a back injury. I've considered three alternatives, pistol squats, dumbbell split squats and dumbbell stiff-leg single-leg deadlifts.

These all seem to hit the quads and the posterior chain, but what would I lose by doing these alternatives instead of doing basic barbell squats and deadlifts? Is there any way to make up for these loses?

So even if I switch out the barbell lifts for similar dumbbell lifts, which hit the same muscles, I would not adequately train the muscles? I would continue to progressively overload these movements.

You can't compensate for not doing huge, whole-body lifts. The squat is not a leg movement, the deadlift is not a back movement, both lifts require you to use pretty much everything you've got to either directly lift or stabilize.

How? It's more difficult to balance myself on one leg than it is on two legs. If I have to balance myself on one leg during a movement, as opposed to using both my legs, how am I missing out of stabilization? If anything, it seems like it would train balance and stabilization more than the barbell deadlift.

Your muscles are designed to work in specific ways, to achieve specific ends. They almost never work in isolation, and they almost never work unilaterally. Therefore, isolation exercises and unilateral exercises are much less effective than bilateral exercises.

Also, worth pointing out that silly unilateral shit is much more likely to hurt your back than just squatting and deadlifting. When you do those correctly, your abs, erectors, and a bunch of other trunk, leg, and upper back muscles are working together to keep your spine rigid and balance the load across it. When you're doing unilateral exercises you're essentially putting asymmetrical stress on your spine, which is a top way to fuck something up.
