Does anyone have advice on developing the inner chest? Due to bad shoulders I struggle with flys, but I've found that using lower weight in the 15-25 rep range helps me activate my chest before I feel shoulder pain. I've also considered doing dumbbell bench that focuses on squeezing the chest at the top of the movement. I'd appreciate any advice or shared experience
>pic related is my shitty chest
dumbell bench. make sure you lift heavy with great form
Try cables, standing, e.g flies where you cross hands

Thank you, I've been focusing on barbell bench the past couple months with dumbbell bench as a secondary lift but I'll switch it up

There is no inner chest.
Just add more mass

This is what I'm currently doing as I find it helps relieve my shoulder pain more than flys laying on a bench. When you say cross hands do you mean bringing them past the point where the hands touch? Right now my movement for cable flys is until the point where my hands come together but if pushing them past that point activates the muscle more I will definitely give that a try

So is chest shape largely genetic? Because in my opinion Chris Evans has a lot of chest mass in pic related but it still doesn't look as good as a more "square" or "complete" chest
excess inner chest work will only serve to increase the cleavage. therefore if you don't like the way your inner chest looks, don't work it and emphasize it's form.
that's just the way your chest looks. it's cool, there are worse things to have. just lift big, live life, be happy.

Genetics plus I believe he has pectus excavatum that makes it look even deeper and farer away

I agree that you shouldn't worry about things that are out of your control but if there was something I could do to have a fuller chest I would want to work on it before my chest gets out of proportion. But it does seem like it will become less noticeable as I progress past DYEL territory
