Can anyone suggest some solid literature to motivate a lifting lifestyle?

I used to lift to let off steam from shit that pissed me off.
But now I'm quite comfy and shit doesn't upset me anymore. And I've lost all narcissism and competitiveness along the way. And lifting for grills just isn't enough.
Meaning I need to get motivation from the inside somehow. But I feel quite uninspired.

Something along the lines of pic related or IRON AND THE SOUL
by Henry Rollins and MINDFUL: Against the Ordinary Language: The Language of the Body — Kathy Acker.

Already part of the library.
But I need more that somehow hits closer to actual physical work.
I've read some martial arts stuff. Close but no cigar. That's all just getting fit for the sake of some sport.

I need something about getting fit for the sake of getting fit.
>>
>>41476148
The rise and fall of the third reich is completely objective, it makes no effort to glorify or hide actions.
Mein kampf Is the story of a homeless person who conquered all of europe, and one of the most influential books of the 20th century.
The way of men has the right idea, but its pretty fucking gay desu.
>>
>>41476354
Stripped from romanticism and read in German, Mein Kampf is also quite gay desu.
Also, it's technically the ramblings of a failed terrorist in prison.
Also the Little Red Book was arguably way more influential.

I don't know if existentialism interests you at all, but I really liked the Myth of Sisyphus by Albert Camus.

Basically Camus believed that conscious existence is inherently absurd and the only way to protest against the absurdity is to accept it for what it is. There is no inherent meaning to anything we do and only by accepting that can we find peace.

The act of lifting is inherently meaningless. It may prolong your life through various means, but eventually you will dye. One you accept that all your goals are meaningless you can come to enjoy the struggle itself ave laugh at the universe for it failing to break you.

What's the point of reading philosophy desu? Isn't it a bit useless? Philosophy, along with math, is the only thing you can build basic knowledge in without any resources other than common sense and the willingess to ask yourself questions. Same thing can't be said of most other subjects. I mean you might not have the correct vocabulary of formal philosophy but still, if you make the right distinctions, use the right definitions and use sound logic (also means being self critical and not fooling yourself with fallacies) you'll end up with to the right conclusion. It's a much more interesting process than cucking yourself with the thoughts of others.

Why do you feel that way? I think a lot of people get their perception of existentialism from either hedonist existentialists or nihilist, both of which are primarily compromised of edgy teens who read the sparknotes for nausea and thus spoke zarathustra and called it good.

Basically I like existentialism because I don't believe in God and find it hard to find inherent meaning in the universe. Existentialism basically says you're allowed to create your own meaning, even if it really is your own and not some objective goal we all should be striving for. So essentially accept that inherent meaning doesn't exist and then follow whatever ethics you feel are best.

>>
>>41477100
No, I was merely pointing out that Little Red Book (like many other communist manifestos) are objectively more influential than Mein Kampf. Heck, Mein Kampf isn't even really that interesting to read for historical reference. The speeches are more than enough.

Also I'm voicing the opinion that this whole NS romaticism is overrated as fuck. Honestly. I've read most books, listened to most speeches and seen most movies. It's just propaganda, m8. That isn't that special.
To me, when you say "Mein Kampf" is inspiring, is like saying Erdogan or Kim Il-Sung is an inspiration.
I genuinely think it's just muh edginess. /pol/ exists for the same reason /leftypol/ exists. Because radical(ly outdated) political positions are edgy and maybe even a little relaxing in a time of very complicated and exhausting issues.

Whatever. Rant done.

I am a dyel /lit/ fag that tries to become /fit/, so I know about as little about lifting as you about reading, but damn. Why do you /fit/ fags have such shit taste?

You should obviously read the Greeks, but why has nobody here mentioned actual classic lit such as Dostoevsky, Tolstoy, Nabokov, Schiller, Goethe, which are all authors that are excelent for newcommers to start with serious lit? Reading Stirner without having read Kant, Schopenhauer and the Greeks is like doing Crossfit and trying to lift weights way to heavy for you, you do more bad then good.

Med students are fucking brainlets, it would take me one month to catch up on their knowledge and in the end I'd come out on top. Why, you ask? Because of my GENETICALLY DETERMINED IQ. IQ tests in youth are designed to provide a vague POTENTIAL adulthood score.

Your potential may have been 142, but forgoing hours per week of reading (with skills learnt from it such as comprehension, critical thinking, memorization) may have stunted your potential.
