I once weighted a non olympic barbell at the gym because no one could tell me how much it weighs. They looked at me like i was legit autistic and ever since then i became >that guy. Well excuse me for wanting to know how much i lift. Fucking normies ree

Serious question, why would you NOT count the bar? Bars have different weights, sometimes by quite a lot. I lift at home, and I have a couple of 1 inch bars. Even the 7 ft one is only 26 pounds. The Ohio Bar from Rogue is like 56 pounds.
I guess Olympic bars will usually weigh about the same, so if you're doing large weight the bar stops mattering. But it matters to us newbies.

Everyone counts the bar, average Olympic bar is 45lbs

WHAT the fuck-- a bar being 26 lbs?
My world, thrown into chaos. I cannot trust any bar I see now. That shit should be illegal.
>>41476642
I ruptured a disk deadlifting with a 55lb bar after a 45lb with the same weight two days ago
stay safe brah, dont be like me
>>41476642
It's a 1 inch bar, for 1 inch plates. It's not an Olympic bar.
>>41475695
>>41476566
I'm confused, is the bar counted or not?
