IT'S NOT THE FUCKING GOVERNMENT'S JOB TO PREVENT YOU MAKING HORRIBLE CHOICES REEEEEE
t. buttblasted liberal who thinks gov spending is really important, but that people who get hypnotised by the syrup & grease industry's advertising have only themselves to blame

>IT'S NOT THE FUCKING GOVERNMENT'S JOB TO PREVENT YOU MAKING HORRIBLE CHOICES REEEEEE
Right but if the government didn't prevent people from making horrible choices then people would make those terrible choices.
there'd be nothing to stop someone from not hiring folks because they're black, people might not use others preferred pronouns, and some people might refuse to sell wedding cake to gay couples.

the government has decided to take the authoritarian parent stance and will try to hold on to that as much as possible. this means micromanaging everything including whether or not you should be able to offer free refills on soda in your restaurant.

If behaviour leads to harm for others - ie. going on disability through shitty choices and forcing others to pay more taxes to support you - I'd say it's the governments task to at the very least examine the matter and possibly take measures. Especially if this results a win-win situation for both parties - in this case people would be healthier and fewer tax money is wasted.

Just my 2cts.

This is something that will self-correct, as the population is becoming more aware of nutrition. 4chan makes it seem like angry, overweight militant feminists are going to ban health foods, but really most people want to be healthier.

The government doesn't need to do shit other than more strictly mandate what can be advertised as healthy, as well as done some PSAs on calorie counting.

It's not entirely false since you can be in good cardiovascular and muscular shape but still be fat due to a high body fat percentage but extremely few fat people, and absolutely none of those promoting 'fat and healthy', meet this criteria.
>>
>>41472719
Technically yes, but actual examples of people who fit that bill are extremely rare because being fit/strong tends to pull you toward being skinny and being overweight tends to corrode your health especially cardiovascular health. Something's got to give. Someone who is young still and used to be a lot more active, especially a lot of guys in their mid to late twenties, are semi-fit and strong but overweight, but they're poised to become simply fat weak lards unless they take immediate corrective action.

power lifters might fall into that category.

>a large portion of health is a choice
>lets remove that choice and force changes in society because I want others to live more than they do
>all to justify taking money from people to
pretend to spend it on healthcare

if those power lifter are the stereotypical 400 bound ball of fat eating half a cow a day for brotien... they might extremely clogged arteries.

Bump for more extra salty fatty tears
