Eggs, low carb protein powder, and spinach are pretty much the staple for me. Can cook a lot with that. Stevia and those Dasani sweeteners will scratch a lot of desert cravings. Learn how to make a good mug cake and it's stupidly easy.

Don't eat carb. Sounds easy but it is not. Everything has carbs, so going on keto is quite hard.
You have to reach ketosis, which is a physical state where your body will decide it must burn fat. The thing is that if you eat carbs once you kick out of ketosis and it takes tine to get back into that state.
The other thing is that it works. Apart from a few snowflakes with "genetics", people always lose a ton of fat. I did it for one month and I have lost a good amount of fat, it was cool. The hard part for me is that it impacts your social life. You can't go out for dinner at some friend's place if they don't cook keto, you can't eat wherever you want at the restaurant.
Bodybuilders use it as a fast cutting method, I think that's a good thing.

You burn that off at the gym. If you're doing a lot of exercise and are already in ketosis you can actually raise your carb ceiling quite a bit and be fine (even to 50 or 60 g for some athelets), although it's not best to tell newbies that.

Yep. Most keto diets are made by skeletal thinks and soccer moms who don't work out so they restrict carbs waaay to low. 20g is good to start and get body used to keto but after about a month it's goes to raise your carbs if you are working out. I can go to about 50g during the week and I'm still good. I eat fruit before gym and then just residual carbs throughout the day. Also, carb refeed days are vital to maintaining muscle mass. I usually do Saturdays with around 150g of good carbs and 5-10k run the following morning.

You eat a lot more fat than usually. Your body pretty much has to get energy from either fat or carbs. There is some story of hunters who were forced to live on rabbit meat (extremely lean) for an extended period of time and they developed all sorts of weird shit.

Normal thermodynamics still apply so calories in - calories out determines if you lose weight. For some reason carbs also impact your water retention so a lot of the weight you lose in the first month is water.

People also report increased energy levels, being able to go without food for a long time, laser eyes, water breathing and all sorts of shit.

When I run keto for a cut, my body goes into full blown keto in just a few days. In addition, after long training sessions 2+ hours of HIT, keto sticks almost always show moderate ketones.

Even if you're not doing strict keto, grab yourself some keto sticks and see if you're showing ketones after a work out. If not, try going on and off keto over the course of a few months, and see if you start showing ketones after long HIT.

FYI: No, I'm not in a state of ketoacidosis. I have my bloodwork done pretty regularly.

It won't, since the standard techniques for cutting body fat (simply eating less and maintaining exercise levels) work just as well and don't require strict monitoring of a diet. Literally the only non-epileptic people who care about keto diets are liftards who either can't afford gear and/or think losing .3Kg of muscle to also lose 10Kg of body fat isn't a worthwhile trade.

It literally takes less effort to just eat less of the same shit you are already eating.

You also avoid kidney stones and increased risk of heart disease, while also minimizing risks of various cancer and diabetes.

Counting macros is ez.

1. read sticky

2. Google a macro calculator
3. Enter what it asks of you
4. Work towards those when you eat. Simply read the nutritional label and aim to keep your foods at that number (ex. 88g of fat per day).

Hard part is planning out your meals to hit macros. Thats why a lot dedicated people end up eating the same shit day in day out.

With keto + good cardio program, you can get away without macro counting for quite a bit of lbs.

Also, the keto diet doesn't take calorie intake into the picture at all. While most people do lose weight, it's completely possible to gain weight with the keto diet because you're producing more fat than you're burning

Maybe you should look up how your body works. It doesn't stop creating fat in ketosis, and if you consume more food than you use, that fat piles up.

Let's say you eat 2lbs of beef, which is roughly 3000 calories. You're still in ketosis because you didn't consume any carbs, but you just gained nearly a pound of fat from calories. If you're only burning 2500 calories a day, you're eating a surplus, hence you gain weight
