example today: three eggs fried in butter, two chicken drumsticks, a string cheese. that was it. and this is very typical. was the fat - protein ratio exactly perfect? probably not. did I eat more than 20g carbs? fuck no. did I eat more than maybe 1200 cals? nope.

I shouldn't even have to mention all the countless "lazy keto / diet" success stories I've read about on various forums and even on here.

I've no pics from since when i was 135kg, started lifting in January when i was 115kg (253lbs), 180(5'11) cm and 94 kg (207lbs) last pic and first pic was 106 (234 lbs), why i feel there's no difference and i'm making no progress and there's no muscles shown although have been lifting 5 times a week for past 4 months. The weight loss is getting slower and slower for past months, eating mostly vegies,rice,chicken breast,wholemeal pasta and stuff in similar manner.
Bench: 70kg/155 pounds
Deadlift: 140kg/320 pounds
Squat: 85kg/190 pounds
Ohp: 45kg/100 pounds

Progress pics. Do i've any hope for not getting really bad loose skin. Tfw doing all this to get noticed by flatmate that i kissed with and now got friendzoned and said i've no chance. What can i expect till september with hard dedication on diet/gym.

Counting calories really isn't that difficult. i got a digital food scale and it really doesn't take much time. That being said if you really are confident you're not going over whatever limit you set for yourself then you will be fine.

Some people (like me) are autistic and need to know exactly how much they're eating. But if you don't feel the need then by all means don't count. You'll know soon enough if you're eating too much.

Yeah i've the same feeling, but the difference between 9 of march and now is about 8-10 kg~. The difference is only visible from the side but i feel like nothing else changed and towards the end of March looked better. Diet is okay but lately i needed to cut the portions even more and replace one of the carbs in one of the two main meals of the day with vegies to start losing in relatively good pace.

I had some leftover candy when I started my diet and that's been the only junkfood I've had since. I regretted it pretty much every time I had some too. Not because it set me back but because such a small amount takes up so much of what I can eat in a day.

What's better calorie loss with cardio, intensity or distance?
I've been just running a mile and upping the speed every other session. But would I burn more calories running a slower speed with a longer distance?

It's bullshit m8. I read up on it and they claim you can eat as much as you want and whatever you want and still lose weight.

I used to wake up at 11 AM and work 12 - 8 and not eat a bite until I got off work. So I was generally fasting from around 3am until 9 in the evening. Not only was I gaining weight but I felt like shit too.

The reason people say to not skip breakfast is so you don't over eat later on and this is 100% true. Now sure, you could intermittent fast and still stay under a certain caloric intake. But this would be no different than if you counted calories without intermittent fasting. It's just a placebo affect.

Wrong. Excessive Post-Exercise Oxygen Consumption (EPOC) that results from HIIT doesn't require nearly as many calories as extended cardio. The general rule of thumb is you'll burn about 35 more calories per mile from HIIT. Do 1 mile total distance of HIIT, you burn 135 calories.

Or, you can do a considerably longer amount of distance and burn calories steadily over time. You can sprint half a mile or run 5K. 65 calories vs 310 calories. Your pick.

Long distance. Rule of thumb for calories burnt from running is 100 calories per mile. If you're doing high intensity running (like HIIT for example), for every mile, add 35 calories. The math will always work itself out. You'll get significantly more tired doing high intensity running than long distance running. Keep it slow and consistent if you want to burn calories.

If you want to improve performance in the gym, HIIT. If you want to improve health, long distance. If you want to be a runner, do both.

If you do that on a ketogenic diet you'd shred pounds.

If you're dependent on glucose you dont wanna run less than 60% your daily chaloric output, but if you're "in keto" your body goes straight to the body fat, keeps muscle in tact while fat is available.

Cutting on Keto you can fast for 2 days straight and feel like a million bucks if you've got enough body fat.

I've had good early results with the kettlebell Simple and Sinister program. See if you can get a trainer to show you how to do swings and get-ups.

Won't get you huge, but it will get you stronger, and it also works as cardio.

The other bonus is you can do the exercises at home if you have a decent sized living room.

Is it true you can't build muscle if you are trying to burn fat? Should I ignore lifting until my weight is lower? I've heard building muscle burns fat in itself, though.

I was 236lb October last year at 5'10. I'm 195lb today. I've stalled here this week, most likely because I've just started running again and did 4.5 miles the last 5/6 days, will be packing on some leg muscle. Anyway I stalled around 207lb for 6 weeks with about 1800-2200 calories a day. I could feel my body changing and it took 1400-1200 calories a day to see the same progress than where i was at 236lb.

I'm eating 1200 kcals a day approx for the past 3-4 weeks. Now I'm burning 450 minimum, maybe 250 more walking and cycling on top.

If you're asking a question like, if I cut an extra 1000 calories a day from my current 2200 calories diet will my metabolism slow. You have the wrong frame of mint to lose weight quickly. That's not a problem but expect your results to come much later.

1000 calories a day less will add up to 7000 calories a week. Which is approx 2lb of fat a week ON TOP of whatever 0.5lb a week you're shedding at 2200 calories currently. That's In perspective your gonna lose fat 3-6 times faster at 1000-1200 calories than at 2000-2200.

Oh it took 2-3 weeks to adjust. If it wasn't for 40 calories hot chocolates and 2kcal dilute juice squash I probably have given up. Having a diet soda now is more satisfying than having a full sugar soda when I was 236lb. I can promise you that.

At 2200 calories you have to track calories like mad because that 0.5lb weight loss you're expecting isn't going to be visible in the 2-6lb your body is going to fluctuate every day based on humidity/water consumed/retained etc...

I'm not bringing up water fasting or any other type of diet. That stuffs not for me, but I guarantee you 0 calories is going to lose you weight faster than 1200 is the same was 1200 is over 2200. Would I exercise on 0 calories. Not in my lifetime.

If you build muscle then your body has to expend more calorie to maintain it raising your basic metabolic rate and calorie expenditure. Not only are you burning more calories when working out... Your body is burning more calories repairing the muscles after workout and maintaining the repaired muscle. The main problem you're going to have is getting tired after a workout and over eating. You could spend an hour in the gym and out eat all benefit in 5 minutes with cream cakes.

I still train martial arts and do HIIT but I can't extended cardio because I just can't get enough oxygen in with light breathing. Need to stomach breath and even then it's hard.

As for your test, 5 weeks gives you a great time to practice C25K. Start with that, steadily build up. On the week of the exam, got up maintenance until the test and then come back down afterwards. Good luck man, I'm rooting for you!

Oh man, I'm at 180 something and I'm still losing a lot of weight. Height? I'd say if you need that snack to make it through, try reducing the portion sizes of your other meals in the day. Take them to about 2/3 the size and drink 1L of water with every meal. Should get you through

As for bike, don't go cheap. Nothing worse than having to spend $50 five times over $150 once. Obviously don't get some flashy piece of crap. Look for functional, and sturdy. Make sure it has at least 1yr warranty; mine the chain fell off after the second use, mechanic had to come out, turns out it's a common problem with the chain being too small on that range and breaking.

What the fuck is going on with my stomach

I was on a week long cruise ship, and eventually started to eat mid week with some mild carb intake. There was alot of salt on the food, but the water was 6 dollars a bottle, so I couldn't keep up with my 2 and a half liters (keto diet)

Now that I've come back, I restarted induction and went down to 500 calories no carbs for the last 2 days, eating nothing but eggs and salad.

I wake up and notice I have a fucking beer belly all of a sudden. I'm just baffled that I somehow got fatter from eating 1/4 my caloric intake. My gut is so fucking round now, holy shit. It legit feels like I just drank 2 12 packs of bud.

Anyone else had a similar situation? I've freaking the fuck out right now.

I'm gonna try the meal prep meme. Just froze 10 cups of beans in little baggies. Gonna cook rice for the first time when I can buy some. Guess I'll cook enough rice to last 3 days in the fridge since taking up all the freezer space would be douchy. Each day I'll mix a 3 cup baggie of beans with a third of the rice and drown it with picante or Sriracha. Sounds boring but boring is what I need. For good measure I'll drink a fruit smoothie. I'll have the calories of the rice figured out when I know how much that shit expands after being cooked.

I've never had a routine when it comes to eating, so I hope the rigidness of meal prepping will get me to treat food as fuel than a drug. There should be a comfiness in microwaving wholesome non-cancerous meals.

Problem is, my lifts are all fucked up. For example:

OHP - 75 max for like 4 reps
BP - 135 1rm
Squat - 135 x 5, feel I could do more but I don't want to have bad form and fuck up my back
DL - other day I did 135x5 on my last set, then did 2 reps at 175
Bent over row - did 115 x 5 on my last set on Monday, struggled hard to do them properly
Lat pulldown - can't seem to get past 90Lbs on my last set, struggle like a mother fucker to pull down those last two reps.

1. I've been following the sticky program, sean10mm's stripped 5x5, but instead of AxBxAxx, BxAxBxx, I just do AxBxx(AB)x (so basically A+B on Saturday) Is there a problem if I started doing AxBABAB (I don't have time to lift on Tuesdays, so that would be my day off)

2. Since I'm having trouble progressing some of these lifts, does that mean I need to do more volume? Or less volume with higher intensity?

The program says to start with lower weight and move up, so I usually start with a lower weight and add 10lbs each set (e.g. BP is 5 reps of 85, 95, 105, 115, 125, then 1 rep at 135). I assume this is to warm up muscles, because when my workout is finished I feel so much stronger and I feel I could hurl the empty bar like a javelin, but idk if I should start with heavier to try to increase strength.

Now that amount of calories sound ridiculous. Another website with a different calculator gives me 31 calories per 15 mins. Now which one is the most accurate according to you? I'm looking for a rule of thumb to go by when entering my exercise into myfitnesspal which doesn't have recorded exercise calculations for weight lifting yet.

Yes, this is fine. I use the quacker oats quick shit.
2 cups oats, 1 cup whey protein, 2 cups almond milk or however much I feel like, potassium salt. Zap it for like 1-2 minutes.

You can add fruit too, whatever fruit you like. Berries are usually the most popular.
Oats are pretty high cals but they keep you filled.

Today I learned what it was like to be triggered.

I'm down about 130 pounds, from 315 to 184.

I've been looking forward to my first cheat meal in 6 months this week. Was gonna go see Alien and get a bunch of kinoplex snacks.

But today was extremely hot, and I had horrible ptsd flashbacks to when I was obese and would be sweating like a disgusting pig in this kind of weather, yet still going to fast food and choking down 5000 calories in a single meal.
