Are rest days a meme? I never feel like I need to rest, nor do I like taking a day off from exercise.

If they're necessary, what do you guys do during your rest days? Light cardio?
>>
not jack shit

perhaps a walk

You're clearly clearly not pushing yourself hard enough in the gym then
>>
if you don't see the need for rest days you're not training hard enough. if you train hard enough you'll see a steady decline in performance if you don't give yourself enough time to recover.
>>
Sprints
>>
>>41457608
sprints are taxing as hell. definitely not something you can do on rest days.

I guess I should have clarified, I see a lot of routines with three days on, four days off. Is that necessary? Or would something like 5 on 2 off work just as well?
>>
>>41457580
Walks are 100% the right choice.
The worst thing for recovery is just sitting on your ass.
>>
>>41457532
maybe you should try lifting weights
>>
>>41457703
I do PPLx and that's a good ratio of rest for me. I think 3 days a week programs are just created to suite people's ""busy"" lifestyles, not to maximize gains.
>>
>>41457532
I tried training 6 days a week heavy and was fine for about two weeks but then the fatigue caught up and I ended up destroying my cns. I later strained a muscle going for a single rep on a weight I did pause reps on for 6 two weeks prior.

Having a ramping up progressive overload schedule or a regular deload in your schedule I've learned is a very necessary thing if you want to lift heavy often.

theyre a meme for anything under a year of lifting for sure, except the first few round of doms.
>>
i really hate not lifting for a day since it's all i live for. i'll give myself a 'rest day' by just grinding out calves, abs, and usually shoulders or chest.
>>
>>41457703
I'm doing 5 days on 2 days off, feels like i'm doing a little too much but the gains are still top tier
