Are rest days a meme? I never feel like I need to rest, nor do I like taking a day off from exercise.
If they're necessary, what do you guys do during your rest days? Light cardio?

if you don't see the need for rest days you're not training hard enough. if you train hard enough you'll see a steady decline in performance if you don't give yourself enough time to recover.

I do PPLx and that's a good ratio of rest for me. I think 3 days a week programs are just created to suite people's ""busy"" lifestyles, not to maximize gains.

I tried training 6 days a week heavy and was fine for about two weeks but then the fatigue caught up and I ended up destroying my cns. I later strained a muscle going for a single rep on a weight I did pause reps on for 6 two weeks prior.
Having a ramping up progressive overload schedule or a regular deload in your schedule I've learned is a very necessary thing if you want to lift heavy often.

i really hate not lifting for a day since it's all i live for. i'll give myself a 'rest day' by just grinding out calves, abs, and usually shoulders or chest.
