I do weighted neck extensions at the gym. That really was the point when I had to accept I don't go to the gym to look good at the gym. If you think hip thrusts are awkward wait till you try these.

I wasn't pencil necked to begin with but I've been doing the extensions for about 3 months now and still feel like I see weekly progress it's crazy.
Obviously I also train shrugd and DL but I've been doing both of those for ages and only seen minimal increase in the thickness of my neck

Yes, thats true but especially traps, delts and neck muscles respond differently to indirect work depending on the person. So some wont need to work them as hard as others, but that shouldnt discourage pencil-necked anons. They are muscles and will respond to progressive overload
