FOR PEOPLE STRUGGLIN WITH GAINS ON NIGHT SHIFT WORK
WORST SHIFT FOR BUILDING OUR MUSCLES AND HEALTHINESS
Been working nightshift for a year now, it's utter shite for gains and sleeping.
come on lads
It's really not that hard. My schedule is just shifted several hours down. Wake up a bit before work to get daytime stuff done, go to a 24h gym after work, come home and do night stuff, go to bed.
all night workers must be sleepin right now

what the fuck is this meme? makes literally no difference if you're up 16 hours and sleep 8 hours. if anything night shift is an advantage since you get to go to the gym while it's empty
The only issue for me with night shift is deciding when I should start counting calories for one day and stop for the other day. Should I think about it around my sleep schedule or around 12am-11:59pm? Thoughts? I know realistically I should just pick one and stick with it but I can't decide on this one thing for some reason.

Call it broscience, but your body prefers sleeping when it's dark out. Being awake during this time and sleeping when the sun is up leads to poor sleep, at least for me.

I consider the 'day' between sleeps. Ignore time, if it's past midnight but you're still up from that day, count it for that day. Your body doesn't reset at midnight so it doesn't matter.

buy blackout curtains
where I live it doesn't get dark for months during the summer yet people still manage to sleep and train

I've been meaning to pick up some blackout curtains for my roommate cause he's on night shift and he's been getting shitty sleep (like 3 hours) with like 14 hour days of hard physical labor. He's making it but I want it to be easier for my bro. Will they actually help much?

they don't let any light through if that's what you're asking
personally I have no trouble sleeping during the day even if it's light out & I don't have curtains so can't really compare them to anything

Can confirm this works well, but I believe it still messed with the natural circadian rhythm if you are awake in the dark hours.
I've always been a night owl naturally, but if I go camping, I rise with the sun, regardless of the weather.
