I think it does to a degree, deadlifting past certain weight is probably more dangerous than ita worth. However if you're hitting 70lbs on a deadlift and saying it's fucking you up then you aren't even trying.

i agree. i do relatively light deadlifts in the 5-8 rep range purely for muscular balance.
theres no reason to do heavy deadlifts unless you want to get better at doing heavy deadlifts.
As long as you have proper form and you're eating enough protein it isn't an issue.
