If it keeps hurting you need to see a doc to rule out a herniation. You need to rest the lower back anyhow.

If it was my spinal disc slipping then wouldn't the pain have occured during the lift? It happened after I put the barbell back and reached for my bottle that was on the ground. I really hope it's just some sort of strain
Can you touch your toes without bending your knees?
Don't lie.

No I can't. There's like a +10 cm gap so my flexibilty is and has always been quite poor admittedly. Guessing thats something to work on to avoid injury(?)

Then, never, ever come closer to a squat rack.
I'm speaking from experience, you are in the first phases of snap city, it's all I'm gonna say.

Then I have no reason to believe your advice is any good

if your form was right it is just a nerve it probably got in bad position try some ibuprofen or so if it was disc you wont be able to move via extreme pain

K, that makes sense thanks. Funny how googling sharp back pain only yields results that point to extreme injury

flexibility sucks, strength of lowback or abs suck.
I assume you do starting strength or texas method. Good luck in snap city.
