>tfw no gym partner
>>41413168
same here. where you from?
>>41413168
Same here... would be cool to have a gym bro but its fine!
I tried to get my friends to join me but they are fucking lazy asses who come up with "excuses".
Just go to gym for your own good.
>>41413191
And at least I can rub my gains into their faces..
>tfw chill with a friend (fatty boy with a 8/10 gf)
>his gf shows up
>she starts miring me
>>41413168
>have friend who workouts and is strong
>would be a perfect workout partner and motivator
>our work schedules are different so its hard to train together
>on top of that he works out at a gym that requires a 2 year contract, and i dont qanna be locked into a gym for 2 years.
>tfw gym buddy stayed in our old shitty gym
It's like Romeo and Juliet
>gym partner is my dad
>>41413706
Used to have this, but work schedules changed and now we can't anymore
Now I have this guy I see sometimes at the gym, but not always.
>tfw no gym buddy to spot
>tfw too scared to go past 1 pl8, because I keep getting stuck under 180
>>41413816
>used to think dad was amazing benching 3pl8's with ease
>now able to do more than him
Good feel?
>>41413860
>dad's getting older
>he doesn't bench as much as he used to
>his workouts aren't as long as they were
>he gets tired quicker
I don't want him to go, he's my only friend
>>41413898
Well mine had a blood vessel explode in his brain during lifting, but he still tries to do 3pl8's. He's only mid-fifties, though.
My gf is a willing gym partner but she annoys the fuck out of me at the gym and I'd rather lift alone. Be careful what you wish for OP.
>>41413168
So what? People inevitably flake andy have their own lives to deal with. It's ultimately up to you to make things happen for yourself. Learn self reliance and you won't have anyone else holding you back.
>>41414009
>Be responsible
>Lift, making some gains
>Talk to people at the gym
>no gf
>no friends you actually connect with
>no one to really talk to
>tfw you're stuck at the bottom of a squat and loneliness weighs more than your 1RM
>>41413168
>All my local friends are fat fucks with barely any desire to get /fit/
>Been going to the same gym for 3 years whenever I'm home from uni
>Literally stare awkwardly at other people when ever I'm on rest
>Look like a tard sprinting and making shit tonnes of noise whenever I'm doing intervals on the treadmill.
>The owner talks to everyone else but only nods to me occasionally.
>Invite friend to gym one time
>Is new to gym and a bit weak but thats fine, we all start somewhere
>As its his first time say we are gonna do some compounds, to work the whole body and make the most of just a one time session
>After first set of squats proceeds to superset with machines
>Wont listen to anything I say
>"Okay anon were gonna do 8 reps on this set"
>always does like 12 reps, the last 3 are just quarter reps as the weights to heavy and doing to much.
>"Okay stop now anon you wanna save yourself for the next 3 sets"
>Doesnt listen
>stands about 3 foot directly in front of me while I do deadlifts
>Every exercise the weight is to much for him, I keep trying to be nice and say stop and lower the weight, again, doesnt listen to me
>dont hear from him for a while
>actually feel relieved
>>41413200
Your friends Tfw
>gym buddy cancels at least once a week
>we're just on a 3/week full body program
>he keeps talking about going on a 5/week schedule
>>41414047
Give it some time and you will see the beauty in the solitary side of life.
>free to commit to whatever you want without compromise.
>nobody to disturb you
>take things at your own pace and get a fuller exprrience
I used to be much more dependent on other people for my fulfilment. But once I got used to the idea that people come and go and I adapted to keep myself company and realized how empowering it was for me.
>tfw gf that loves to lift leaves you because she doesn't want to get serious and be hurt.
