I started squatting 155 3x5 and am already up to 185 3x5, adding 10lbs each time, I'm hoping to continue this to about 210ish before dropping to 5lbs.

Started at 160 bw, 5'10. Whilst it's hard, I noticed that as long as I gain weight I somehow manage these 10lbs jumps even though it seemed impossible the previous session. I'm probably like 5lbs bw more right now too in a matter of just over a week. Is this too fast for weight gain for start period or normal?

In a clarification, rippe says that when by the time I reach high 200s/300, I should be 185ish bw?

Adding 10lbs is normal for the first few workouts but it probably won't last for more than 5 unless you highly underestimated your first workout. Keep eating and resting and you'll maintain linear progress.

I can do almost 5pl8 with no straps. I gotta be chalked up really good and I can only do 1 rep with double overhand. I can do 5 reps with mixed grip memes. Doing a lot of reps at lighter weight really helped my grip work. I was doing 5/3/1 boring but big 3 month challenge so I worked up from 5x10 at 50% (of 90%), to 5x10 at 60% and then 5x10 at 70%. Before I did that program I couldn't even double overhand 4 plate.

Got another job interview at a very good and very huge firm. A consultant position. It's a very, very, very good job and I expect it to be a door opener for jobs anywhere.

Second interview at a very good and very huge firm on Monday. Job is good, and I expect it to be a door opener for better jobs in the firm, which is in an industry that will only grow. This job requires shift work.

Just did today 5pl8 using DOH grip fo 1RM, usually do 4pl8 for reps. I have never used mixed grip or any straps. If you cant hold the weight, then you are not strong enough.

Can someone explain the logic for the second squat session on C6W?

The first lower body day you squat a decent weight for 3 sets up to 6 reps, then the next workout only 1 set and a meager 2.5kg heavier.

I felt like i could have blasted out 10 reps since there were no other sets to worry about.

On monday im gonna do this.

I'm running 28free for DL. Gonna hit 4x3 on 172.5kg.

Should I squat, deadlift then squat
OR
squat all of it then deadlift.

Last week I did all of the squats first then deadlift. I had to dig deep on some sets of deadlift. Would I benefit from deadlifting in between since the last portion of squats is relatively light but still high volume. I'd rather suffer doing squats than suffer doing deadlifts.

Am I overthinking dis?

If it's a USAPL meet, you'll need a "whitelisted" singlet, a shirt with no logos or anything on it, and a whitelisted belt, wrist wraps, and knee sleeves, if you intend on using any of that. Yes, it's patent bullshit and a reason why the IPF is just another lolfed.

For the actual lifts, just make sure you KNOW THE COMMANDS AHEAD OF TIME! If you show up to a meet and get red lights because you won't wait for the Squat, Press, or Rack commands, I will fight you.

Also, train at least some heavy bench presses with a pause at the bottom if you aren't already doing so.

And take some videos. It'll either expose you as a jackass or look pretty boss. AND it'll help us help you better.

Keep it simple, just do more volume, get off SL.

Run Greg nuckols beginner 3x bench perhaps?
Add CGBP or some DB press in for 5x10 after or something. Anything. Just more volume!

If you wanna do SS then just add a few accessories like stated above. Just added more volume.

You literally can't do too much with those stats, so do a fucking lot.

Eating more isn't necessary, you're already at a surplus, just DO MORE.

Just get your standing press (the Starting Strength kind) up to LMAO2PLAYT, and increase your deadlift and power clean/full clean. Your traps should grow as a result.

BTN press is a great way to risk your shoulders.

Ironically I do both of those two, but power cleans give me mild lower back pain / discomforts and I have a history of it, so I'd rather play it safe than sorry.
