I am OP. I come here because CBT threads are like the miscellaneous discussion thread on /fit/ so I post my pic once and then talk with a bunch of other anon's. I don't really have friends irl so this is like a consistent face to face discussion for me, except it is body to body discussion. It's fucking pathetic but I'm gonna be honest.

I just started doing them again after I got better from an injury a month ago. So far I've really just been doing a fuck ton of push ups, situps, and pullups, but I've been getting into more technical calisthenics stuff lately. I did them a lot a few months before the injury too, and made decent gains.

I don't really have a routine. I just make sure to do at least 3 full body workouts a week. A fun prison-esque workout I do a lot is a deck of cards worth of push-ups(380), and then 200 situps and 100 pullups, then 8 sprints for legs. Recently I've been doing a lot more Archer push-ups, dips, diamond push-ups, 4 sets of strict pullups, 3 sets of strict chinups, and then more technical ab work like hanging leg v raises and one arm one leg planks. Calisthenics are great because you can get creative with them, that's what makes it fun!

You look good lad, as for the abs, it depends. Abs are not entirely made in the kitchen. If you don't work abs already, start, and see where it goes. Compounds are not enough for abs and if you don't work abs regularly, and keep cutting, you may just get a slim tummy with weird pseudo abs.

Just started working out about 2 weeks ago, new to working out in general but I think I should be cutting down focusing on losing body fat % while trying to keep any muscle I might have built up under. My weekly workout goes as sun/tues/thur is weight lifting days, mon/wed is cardio days. fri/sat as resting days and then the following week I switch weight lifting days with the cardio ones and then by the 3rd week it's back to square one again, repeat. Hour at the gym, about 5-6miles of cardio making use of inclines, stepper, etc. Lifts are a mix of stationary machines but tossing in squats, bench press, barbells, push ups and trying to ease into pull ups (arms can't handle my body weight yet)

My ideal goal for now is to get my body fat % down to around 10-15% range, it's somewhere around 24-26% right now. I stick around 1400-1600 kcal intake daily with a bmr of 2226 kcal.

My macros are as follows, been trying to tweak it towards a lower carb diet to burn purely body fat as fuel for a few weeks and then boost carb intake by 50-100g. Protein=120g net carbs=50-70g fat 45-60g. This is all while eating healthy foods to maintain these, so fats are coming from fish, nuts, etc.

Any advice?

Sounds like you're doing everything right bro. If you really stick to this you'll see massive improvement over the summer, assuming you came from a normal american diet, exorcize regimen (shit food/sedentary)

Cutting is good if you want to be aesthetic, but usually you want to bulk up a bit first. Don't be afraid to pack on some extra calories and focus on gaining some hard mass if you have a decent workout.
As long as you're eating clean, you'll continue to build muscle and burn a bit of fat. Once your body adjusts over a couple of months, the cut is quicker and you see results faster due to extra muscle.

Just don't give up. The 1st or 2nd month is where most people start getting lazy as it's hard to see the gains.

Thanks for the boost bro, it is a pain not seeing any gains yet but I've read up that I shouldn't worry too much, that it could take up to 1-2 months to see any chance over all.

You got it right though, this is coming from a shitty american diet with sitting around all day for the past year or more, just glad to get into the gym and not feeling so lazy anymore is a plus so far, plus focusing on healthy foods has put me into a good mind set so far.. don't really feel like I need a snack or junk food whenever I"m offered any now.

I'm not sure if I understand your question, but I just estimated how much I should increase. I was stuck at weighing 145-148 for a couple months and once I upped the cals I slowly started gaining about 2 pounds a month and for the most part I think I've been gaining muscle and almost no fat.
