Sit ups are better but you have to make sure you do them correctly so you don't fuck yourself up. Don't tug on your head with your hands or put your chin towards your chest, don't go as far forward as you can but as far as you can without sitting directly on your tailbone, keep your feet flat on the ground, don't have your legs pressed together but spread them apart about should length, and keep your spine straight
