This is a quarter squat, it's bad because the load will be on your knees because you're stopping short of going all the way down so that the weight can be transferred fully to your glutes/quads. If you do it like this your knees will hurt and you will get little to no glute development.

For some people this might be a full deep squat, while for others it might even be above parallel.

Increase mobility by stretching glutes, adductors and quadriceps.
