I switched from drinking a LOT of diet coke to drinking almost solely club soda/soda water. I didn't notice that much of a difference in weight. I also quit smoking though at the same time so I probably eat more.

I drimk 40+ oz of diet coke a day and just tested 692.9 and im a 39yo male
