Hi /fit/

I'm not sure about eating before working out. My training goal atm is weight loss. I heard eating before training can cause insulin spikes and hinder weight loss. Idk if that's true though. Especially since I'm doing keto. My question is: Is doing cardio on an empty stomach good, bad, or does it have no effect?

LISS in the morning before eating breakfast is fine. Loads of people swear by it.

Don't do HIIT on an empty stomach.

never done it so i dont really have a valid opinion. but conceptually, you're losing weight on keto by making your body run less efficiently. carbs are a diet staple for a reason, being a cheap and potent energy source. it reminds me of all the benfits of "paleo" shit, of which 99% are just benefits of a closely monitored diet. if it works for people that's great, i dont think anyone has done a long term keto study on metabolism or brain function

To my mind dieting is something you are going to do for the rest of your life. Keto has the feel of something you just use for a short while, but then what? You go back to the old eating habits that made you fat in the first place?

started IF (one meal a day) about two days ago.
Yesterday I did some HIIT after having me some coffee, today again done some calisthenics after coffee, both on empty stomach.
Idk, I feel alright, tomorrow I'm gonna attempt a full body session on an empty stomach as well, hope it works out well lol.

From personal experience, don't consume any food within 45 mins of your workout.

Pretty much every time I have thrown up when doing heavy-lifts was because I ate within 30 mins of training. Especially don't drink a protein shake and then pre-workout. Guaranteed to throw up curdled milk

This, only did it once then did three basic set of push up, squats, pulls ups, etc and threw up my salad lunch. Never again, do your workout then eat something soft after like an apple
