Just how trustworthy are these?

do americans really measure like this?
>>41345116
how do you measure it, fag?
>>41345129
weight
each of those oatcakes do not weigh exactly 30g, therefor those stats are not correct.
weigh all food
>>41345145
you're an idiot. they almost always also give grams in case you DO want to measure it exactly, but also gives you a serving in case you want to eyeball it roughly. you're complaining about extra information that makes it more convenient?
>>41345145
>>41345159
this theres grams and cakes on there stupid ass what youre discribing is the same thing youre just weighing it instead of taking the labels word for the weight of 2 cakes
>>41345159
>>41345172
>weigh food
>see if it matches label
>if not, divide actual weight of food by label's grams/mls/whatever
>take the result of that, multiple the calories or anything else
>you have the true stats of the food
"eyeballing" is dumb as fuck. you will never be truly accurate without weighing.
>>41345113
They're roughly exactly as exact as extinction statistics. There's leeway but the published end measurement is more or less exactly correct (to an extent.)
>>41345113
They're averages
>>41345207
well if you eat enough of them the 2 cake serving size should be right cause itll average at 30g
Overall caloric intake is impossible to measure accurately (leftover food, crumbs, oil). A 2 gram difference in oatcake size is negligable relative to your goals. Anyway it's just bait.

Pic related.
>900g cake
>64g per 1/4 cake
Something doesn't add up here
>>41345221
Bruh... you just blew my fuckin' mind bruh.
>>41345129
The guy you respond to is a faggot but here all labels have to be per 100g or per 100ml, which makes it easier to compare different kinds of foods at a glance. Often there will be a second column for the serving size as well.
>>41346114
Holy shit 170 calories for 1/4 cake would be nice.
>Be american

Food Scientist here, no meme
These nutrition facts are incredibly accurate, as the FDA & USDA are strict as fuck.
However there can be discrepancies for foods that are less consistent in their packaging like pre-packaged sandwiches or fast-food items that are hand made. But those vary at most only like 10%, calorie wise.
The composition/proximate analysis of literally every food can be found from
https://ndb.nal.usda.gov/ndb/search/list
Which is the source used by all calorie trackers.
