I think I am. I get a good amount of attention and am significantly more successful on tinder/bumble in terms of matches than my friends, which I think is a pretty good barometer of attractiveness since it's purely going off of looks.

I worked to develop the perfect body and prayed my face would follow suit and all in all I got what I wanted in both respects, but it didn't grant me the happiness I was hoping for with women.

Hooking up is a lot easier. Some of the time the girl is doing most of the work to go home with me. But finding that "10/10 great personality" gf has been terrible. I know the difference because I didn't become attractive until early 20's. Girls in highschool used to cruelly mock me me for being ugly.

Through a mixture of finishing puberty and gaining a little weight (I was 6'2 and 65kg when I was in ugly stage) I become attractive. Girls started getting super friendly trying to talk to me a lot more and guys would occasionally compliment my looks and want to figure out how much action I was getting (still zero).

As someone who used to be ugly and in the last couple of years has become attractive through a combination of looksmaxing (roids/supplements/braces/haircut/accutane) and finishing puberty, a couple things I've noticed:

Some people are more open to talk to you, some people, particularly less attractive people with shitty personalities that KNOW they are less attractive, tend to assume you're snobby or full of yourself, specially if you're confident, extroverted, talks loudly, etc. They will act friendly in your presence and talk shit about you on your back.

Girls are less defensive to your approaches if they find you attractive (obviously), but girls will still harshly reject you if you don't know how to control your anxiety and approach subtly, with calm and confidence.

That's why i firmly believe that: confidence + indifference > looks

Obviously being attractive is nice because people are nice to you, but sometimes being attractive is annoying. I work in an engineering firm, and I have to dress very masculine at so I can fit in as part of the team and get taken somewhat seriously. I can tell some people resent me being there like I am a distraction, and assume I don't care as much about my job as everyone else. Otherwise it's fine, I'm not insanely attractive though, my face is decent but I have a good body. I mostly notice the dynamics when I'm at work or at the gym. At the gym everyone stares at me and is unnecessarily nice to me. I have this weird mixed feeling where I want to be attractive and people to notice but also hate the attention and want to be left alone. I also resent people for being so shallow.

I've found in nightclub type environments I get attention way more easily than my friends, and generally stand out from the crowd.

People frequently call me good looking, handsome etc. This gives them an expectation that I'm more successful with women, and puts you under a certain amount of pressure.
