Well, getting good sleep is very important (I sometimes stress that if you don't get at least 8 hours a day you shouldn't even bother working out at all because you won't get to rebuild your body during your rest periods). If a bed helps you sleep, then get a bed ASAP.

Also wondered about this. I plan on using a cotton sleeping bag when I get my own place to avoid moving costs/furniture etc... I'm also a fan of the Japanese and I think it's cool.

I can't imagine a bed offers much. There's actual sleep experts who just use inflatable mattresses.
