Drinking is fun, and I can generally avoid a hangover. But I'll be honest, I'm pretty sure I have depression, and while I don't get hungover, I get super down in the next couple days that follow a night of drinking.
Is it even worth it?

thats why I stopped using all mind altering substances except caffeine.
It is much better without them, after I got used to it.
I too have eventually came to dislike the hangover more than I like getting drunk.
A hangover can make you feel off for a day or two, very subtle lingering effects once the real hangover is through.
Sometimes I do get frustrated enough to drink though, I wait until I'm particularly angry or frustrated to drink.

Whenever I drink I don't wanna do anything the next day, and I end up skipping a workout because I'm a bitch like that
It just sucks that so much of social life in our culture revolves around it. Last semester, I didn't do hardly anything because when you don't drink, so many social situations are out the door.

Probably outgrowing it, count your drinks and drink less.
OP here. Honestly, I have a bad family history of alcoholism and I should probably just stop. The short-term fun probably isn't worth it in the end.

try phenibut or MDMA
here's a question that only alcoholics ask themselves: "am i an alcoholic?"
alcohol is a short-term relief with long-term drawbacks. it's the same as eating cake or smoking a cigarette; feels great immediately, but you fucked your future up a teeny bit. do it often enough and those small amounts add up into serious problems.

Iktf. A bad hangover can make me actually want to end my life

Right there with you OP. Pretty sure getting drunk fucks with your dopamine levels for a few days. I always feel better and more naturally happy after a few days sober, unfortunately I can never seem to kick the liquid Jew for more than a few days because I get super bored being sober.

I find a similar situation, very rarely I have a hangover worse than an unsettled stomach even nights I black out. But I do feel an underlying feeling of depression the next day or two.
I still do it but generally as a celebration or out with people every so often
the solution is not drinking enough to get hangovered
at least for me is what works
