The foods at the bottom of the pyramid are about 100kcal per serving, so between 600-1100 calories from whole grains depending on individual needs and then rounded out with fruits, vegetables, etc

The calorie labels are totally wrong.

1 serving of mixed vegetables in my freezer (broccoli + cauliflower + carrots) = about 50 calories.
1 banana = about 110 calories.
1 serving of greek yogurt = 130 calories

etc.
