OP here, I've been exercising my whole life. I swim, run, lift weights, eat well, and get plenty of sleep. I attribute my strong heart mainly to swimming and cycling though, both are god-tier exercises.
will add that during the day my resting rate is around 42 - OP pic was just after waking up

Holy shit that's really good considering I'm a fat fuck. 225lbs at 5'10.
I just woke up 30min ago though. Probably more like 75+ on average.
>>

>>
>>41309521
Mines 80. Do taller guys have higher heart rates? I sense cardiac arrest in my future.
>>
>>41309530
Taller people have more heart issues typically.
>>
>>41309530
For the longest time my heart rate was in the 50's and 60's and I'm 6'3.
Right now my heart rate is about 78 and that's after an hour and a half of lifting heavily and eating.

Somepeople just have higher heart rates. That along with stress, being out of shape and stimulants can give you a very high heart rate.

Checking your heart rate in the mornings for a week then averaging the score is the best way to do it.
>>
~60. No way to measure nearby, so I counted the beats in 6 seconds.

I hate having POTS. What's a good cardio program to lower my heart rate? I've gotten blood tests down on my heart values and they were normal, and I got an ultrasound done and it was normal. Doctor said I would outgrow it when I'm 20 but I don't wanna wait cause I wanna start juicing.

no child, some shrews can die within hours after their last meal because of their fast metabolism. Then you have elephants which can live for decades
>>
pls help cardiofags

So I have a very fast heart rate because my thyroid is borderline overactive and I'm a recovering fatty. my resting rate is probably around 80-90 and I'm 100+ moving around.

What heart rate range should I be doing my cardio in so that I can lower it without killing myself? I have to use a bike or elliptical because I'm so large and unhealthy that my heart can't keep up with my body when I run.
>>
>80
I hate cardio so goddamn much. It's so boring compared to lifting.

>>
>>41309228

How exactly do we measure resting heart rate?

If I'm lying down It's always around 35 but if I'm standing up it shoots up to 60 or a little more.

I mean 35 seems a little low. I'm not exactly a cardio master, I can run a mile in under 7 minutes but that's not a huge accomplishment.
>>
69 over 420 which works out to 0.16428571423
>>
>>41309360

Nah, I think heart rate is one of those things that's really easy to get into the top 90% of humans, but getting above that is super hard.

My resting heart rate ranges from 36 - 50 and I just lift and do cardio twice a week.

The world record is 28, and I'd imagine it's nigh impossible to get below 30.
>>
>50-60 without coffee
>~65 with coffee
>am still overweight but been doing cardio at least once a week for 4 years, also i work physical job
>HRV is bretty good also
>>
>>41309228
I want to do cardio but I can't use my legs for much right now and my arms keep hurting.
90+BPM resting
cortisol levels super high
Is it possible to lower to 40BPM if I train like an athlete supposing I could use my legs and arms? Is there anything I can do right now?
>>
>>41309228
If you're not using a chest strap then results are misleading. Wrist based heart rate monitoring is shit-tier
>>
>>41309360
>manlets dont have to pump blood as far
>>
>>41310740
>>41310776

TSH is like .4 or something close to the lower range (low means fast metabolism), it's been consistently like this for years whenever it's tested. I don't think I've never gotten a more specific test done.

But I don't get it. Why is it wrong if you literally count the pulse in your wrist over a minute?

Are you telling me that's not how you measure a heart rate accurately?
>>
>>41310974

That app is pretty much spot on when compared to rates I've measured myself and I've never got it to go below 35, and I can only get that lying down. When I'm sitting it's actually around 43.

26 is insane. I imagine the difference between 26 and 36 must be astronomical.

Keep going. Look out for abnormal rhythm, as that is a bigger risk factor. Also work on your blood pressure as that will fuck your health up silently. Leafy greens are your friend. Eat the with food to help your blood vessels from getting hardened and to help thicken your intestinal lining to better block very bad things from entering your bloodstream. Also, you can lose your eyesight if you don't get your vitamins and minerals and/or have high blood pressure. Also reduce stress and anxiety. Work on calmness and meditation. Don't sit for long periods of time (regular exercise does not do anything for sitting disease - get a treadmill desk, bike desk, under desk pedal machine - standing is not much better than sitting) and do not focus your eyes on one thing for long periods of time (20-20-20 rule with monitors and tvs). Going outside is great for your health, anon. Even I drive for a long time to secluded areas to go outside. Also, wear PPE and get a fitting (keep a pair of earplugs on your keychain). Don't listen to old timers and cool kids. Do it for her, anon.

This is a very nice post. Thank you, anon. I like leafy greens and love being outside, so I think it might be anxiety and maybe sitting a lot when I'm inside. When I was younger I had some heart issues that the doctors said went away when I got older, but my heart does occasionally beat strangely for a few seconds, so maybe they're wrong and it's still that. I should probably get a second opinion now that you mention it. That is a very good motivation, I have to say.

If you can afford it, get it checked out. A lot of problems can be stopped from getting worse or even reversed with simple lifestyle changes. Also it's a good idea to keep a log of any health problems you experience. Just put the date, time, what you we're doing, did you get enough sleep, food, water, etc. This will help narrow things down. It's up to you if you want to bother with a food diary.
If they tell you that you're fucked at least you can plan something out. Clear your backlog, just be yourself, spill your spaghetti, get a permaban, start world conquest, tie up loose ends, enjoy forbidden things, go on a world tour with your waifu, visit area 11, be the next zyzz, whatever. Hopefully you're okay and you can do it for her.

You don't have to do what a doctor tells you to do. You can get a second opinion. You can find a doctor who is conservative about treatment (there are lots of them, plenty of people have trouble getting treatment approved by their doctor). You have access to the internet, which means that you can ask around, find out success rates, complications, dangers, etc.
Everybody dies, but at least you might get a better idea of when that can be. If you don't have something that you always wanted to do but haven't done yet, it might be a good idea to find out. You can make it a very fun last few days, weeks, months, years. It might turn it out that some simple changes will fix your problem.

Yeah, I'll get myself checked out as soon as I can. I have insurance right now so hopefully it will cover that. Keeping a log of when weird health shit happens is a great idea too. Unless they tell me otherwise I'm just going tell myself I'll be able to take that world tour with my waifu without death staring me down, though. Hopefully at the absolute worst I'll just need to take it easy in certain ways because of my heart and not have to worry about it exploding.

I should get to sleep, so goodnight, anon, and thanks. I wouldn't be planning to get this looked at without you.

Do you think I can bring it down from 80-90 to the 40s if I take it seriously or is it like BP where you can't lower it much once it gets too high?
>>
>>41311998
>or is it like BP
What's BP

But no, I have no idea why you would think you couldn't get it down "once it gets too high". I used to be severly overweight (~240/108), with a resting heart rate well above 60, and I got it down when I started adding minor cardio to my weekly routine as stated above. I replaced my bike ride to and from the gym with a short, high intensity run instead, every time.

Oh. High Blood Preassure is irreversable? Perhaps I have that from being fat, then.

What are some typical, easy ways of knowing you have high blood preassure? Like, are there any symptoms to look out for?
>>
>>41312028
There are usually no symptoms until it's too late like kidney failure, loss of vision, heart attack, stroke, etc. It's the silent killer for a reason. Fortunately, the test is easy and cheap. A simple cuff device is usually enough. It's not irreversible, but depending on how long you have it the damage may not be reversible. Some people have high blood pressure solely due to genetics so a healthy lifestyle doesn't mean that they don't have it. A regular checkup is really useful for detecting a lot of important health problems.

not doing any cardio
maybe i will start to cut a bit
>>
>>41310935
its the opposite

the smaller the animal the faster the heart rate

small people usually have max HR around 200-220, larger people usually have max HR 170-190

If you don't do regular intense cardio, you might have bradycardia. We're you an athlete in the past? You need to get that checked out if that is not the case.

>>
>>41312475
Efficiency is bad, you guys. Requiring a 100 beats to pump x amount of blood/oxygen is just as good as needing only 40. Abandon cis white heteronormative standards for health at once.
>>
>>41312475
Having a low resting heart rate and good blood pressure is better for maintaining erections. I guess you should enjoy your erectile dysfunction in your thirties.

>>41312491
Nah, you're obviously constantly burning fat. "Fat burn" means you're healthy.
>>
>>41312509

>>
>>41312491
Yes. Do cardio, lose weight if you're a fatty, see a doctor if you can (blood pressure may be high as well - that's really bad and you should try to lower it sooner to avoid any further damage and reverse it if it's not been too long), eat better, etc.
>>
Samsung Health doesn't let me measure heart rate, but it's on a Google Nexus phone. Where the hell do you get it?

The apps I tried from the store are all over the place (between 30 and 2 million bpm)

My resting heatrate right now, just woke up is 87 according to my fitbit.

Feeling fucking fresh.

i'm fat (~20% bf) and i rarely do cardio apart from some rowing before lifting. my resting HR is around 50. cardio is a meme
>>
I'm in prep, taking stims. My "resting" HR is sitting around 86.
Once I'm off the stims and add 10 pounds and get on my more normal cardio regime it usually sits closer to 55. Not great, but not shit I guess.
>>
>>41309228
>tfw obese fag

My resting is about 65-75. It used to be 85-90 before I started regular cardio, and dropped about 15lbs.
>>
>>41309228
How does it feel to have your heart beat so slowly. That sounds chill as fuck like I'm always checking my pulse to make sure I'm not dying.

I imagine if it was so slow I'd always be like "fuck yeah dude thats healthy" and jack off to it

I'm always having a slight panic attacks, once I almost fainted in a bus because some girl got really close to me. She was so close if I were looking in front of me I would literally touch her so I had to look to the side.

I tried to give blood a year ago but she took my resting HR and it was 108 so I couldn't.

There's no way my resting HR was that high naturally. Do I have anxiety or something?

>Hey bitch, med student here, go see your fucking doctor

27 year old. Have venous insufficiency in both my legs.

Not over weight ever, very active, blast and cruise on moderate dosages of gear for past 3 years.

Doc knows I use gear, says it 80% likely to be genetic.

Currently using compression socks, foot elevation.

Any advice. Thanks bro. Will join the ranks of med fags one day, just not today.

It is, when you take a manual pulse.
A fitbit is not the most accurate
>>
>>41311556
I'm better at reading EKGs than even 4th year med students.
He sounds like he has an arrhythmia - but that's not necessarily AFib. Even if he did, people live with it constantly. He MAY throw a clot, but it isn't fucking life threatening. The only way to tell is with an EKG if he even has AFib.

Dont fucking fear monger people with your "hur durr I'm a doctur in trannying" when you can't do shit.
Come back when you've successfully lead a code, while intubating, and interpreting an EKG.

That's seriously just a chronic issue that your body has - like someone who sweats too much, or someone with a dickhole in their ballsack. Sucks but you gotta just live with it.

>That's seriously just a chronic issue that your body has - like someone who sweats too much, or someone with a dickhole in their ballsack. Sucks but you gotta just live with it.

Could the roids have caused it?

Doc says probably not, says genetics.

Will see a vein specialist and see if I can get treated. The only problem is during lower body workout or stationary bike work my feet itch soooo bad I need to stop immediately.

I don't want to use the steroid cream provided by my doctor so I just use stretching, elevation, and compression socks on a daily basis.

Thanks though :-)

Lastly could it mess up my heart in any way?
