6 months ago I started with SL 5x5. Here is my progress:
>squat 5x5 40kg -> 5x5 90kg
>bench 5x5 40kg -> 5x5 70kg
>DL 1x5 50kg -> 1x5 105kg
>bodyweight 59kg -> 67kg
I need serious advice. Should i still stick to SL or should i switch to other routine like 5/3/1? Is my progress good or I am fucking up?
Are you still progressing? If not, just keep going and continue eating.
You've doubled almost all of your lifts in 6 months, that's pretty decent.

not progressing from workout to workout but there is some improvement... can't say i hit total plateau... thing is i want strength focused workout and if there is other which can give me better progress than SL i will take it

Have you tried deloading and then adding weight again, as per the program?
>>41287624
was trying to deload by 10% but that didn't helped me much... should i do bigger deload?
I've been in the same boat, but I have hit a plateau. What kid of sets should I take? 3x5?

switch to Starting Strength (why evven do SL over SS to begin with?) and up your calories
>>41287549
Switch the sets from 5 to 3
Honestly those are some good lifts for your body weight
I'm beginning to think SS/SL is a meme.
>was 57kg, skinny with a bit of stomach fat that wouldn't go
>told I should lift heavy to gain muscle and burn fat
>told I also need to eat loads to build that muscle
>three months later lifts barely gone up, hardly gained any upper-body muscle, stomach bigger and fatter than ever
>look like a fucking pear
t..thanks /fit/.

Nope. In my case, one of the limiting factor in increasing strength is muscle mass. Add a high volume lower weight (probably 80-90% of your main lift) and do 3-4x8-10 of the lift.
e.g heavy bench day with light ohp day.
Seriously though, doing hypertrophy rep ranges of the same exercise work wonder in overcoming plateou.
Note: up your calories because this method still works for me even though im eating at deficit. fyi this is my fifth month lifting.
