Every day this week, when I have returned from the gym, I slip into a sadness and despondency.
Anyone else feel this way? Any suggestions?
Buy rope
take a nap
Do you feel the same way before a workout?

caffeine crash, either have another coffee or sort out your addiction.
Happened to me yesterday. Today was rest day for me.

I haven't tried skipping rope at the gym. I'll consider it for the future. I might just buy for home use.

Good advice. It might be a lack of sleep, but I've been getting solid ZZZs - something like 8 hours a night.

Na,. I'm a pretty upbeat guy. I spent the morning reading - got 100 pages done. I felt good going in, heck, I bumped into two buddies at the gym and had a decent work out.

I don't drink caffeine. I had a single earl grey tea in the morning.

Could it just be overall fatigue?

Do cardio. Running releases endorphins and makes you feel good.

hang out with friends after the gym
I LITERALLY came to /fit/ to cheer myself up from this
For me I think it comes from not having anything of worth left to do that day (It's 10pm now so I don't know what else I expect to do) and the fact that I hate just waiting for things to happen on their own, when I'm lifting I'm doing it consciously but just resting feels like I'm not doing anything even though my body is doing its work

Pick 1
Are you taking pre-workout? Or are you spending too much time in the gym?

I get this but I'm sad all the time except when lifting. Sometimes I'll go back to the gym again at night or on my rest days just to lift something desu.
hey, i mean
if you spend your free time lifting
come back here and talk about lifting
eat meals to help you progress with lifting
sleep enough hours to make sure youre recovered for lifting
avoid social situations in favor of lifting
maybe you should do less lifting? like, unironically you do need some variation in your day to day life.
try running a 3 day routine (do cardio/core if you need to do something) and being a little more forgiving with your diet for a couple weeks and maybe avoid posting here for a bit?
it doesn't matter that much breh.

what do you mean sort out your addiction? Is this Jordan Peterson stuff. Where do you recommend I begin if I want to sort my shit out and get control?

Don't leave the gym
