I find having a 'method' to work through the depression can work, so you feel more grounded (from mania) and less on an actual depressive spiral. Like the lights dim instead of going off completely.

this includes lots of routine stuff, as well as slamming fish oil and vitamin D3 and getting heaps of sun, I switch my routine from weights to more cardio based and generally just push myself to get out more.

Obviously you can feel it in the back of your head and eventually you get burnt out but when you do start to burn out its like you're 1/2 way through the bullshit and the upswing is just around the corner.

I'm lucky I have a good friend who has my back 24/7 and stops me from doing stupid shit which could cause a spiral downwards.
