I used to shower once a day religiously. Had terrible, perpetual acne despite washing my face, using benzoyl peroxide, and a bunch of other stuff to keep it down.
These days, I shower about 4 times a week. Acne is basically gone now. But when shower daily, it comes back.

Showering once a day is an unhealthy meme made up by a coddled modern society trying to profit from unrealistic beauty standards.
