hey bros, so I have a problem with my knee and the doctor said I should stop working out muh legs and recommended I started swimming.

Is swimming a meme or is it actually useful for leg gains?

If you use a kickboard for a 1650m sure but most swimming is upper body.
>>
>>41216293
If riding a bike is alright with your knee do that instead. Biking is king of low impact leg gains.
>>
I wanma start swimming at least once a week for recovery and cardiovascular endurance.

Will that fuck with my gains if i do it the day after leg day?
>>
>>41216293
You won't make leg gains much, nor anywhere else on your body. Shoulders will benefit the most though.
>>
>>41217296
probably not unless you swim a lot, and if you don't swim that often you won't be swimming that much until your technique and cardio skills catch up.

>>41218365
hell yes shoulders and lats look and feel great since i started swimming regularly
>>
>>41216293
Do not under any circumstances do breaststrokes, I have a fucked up knee right now because I did breaststrokes with unbalanced legwork.
>>
How do I learn to swim if there's no classes near me, and my gym has classes for children only?
>>
>>41218683
are you a complete beginner? It's pretty important to have a teacher imo
>>
>>41218571
Yeah breast stroke requires an atypical ROM of the knee.

This. I would talk with your doctor about what range of motion you should avoid. Swimming is great cardio, back it 100%
