I've been training for 8 months. I have bulked too hard, bulked too slow, had weeks that probably add up to months where I was spinning my wheels because I didn't get off my novice routine.

I have learned a lot about proper diet and form, made many mistakes along the way.

I only bench 160 for my 1RM but I am proud of that so far because I am over 6feet tall and skinny, I also have 10-11 percent bodyfat so to me, it's a good start.

To be fair the mechanics of the lift are significantly altered by the length of your limbs. And of course a person with a larger frame can support more muscle and weighing more will lead to being stronger. I'm 5'6" and I don't use it as an excuse to belittle people who are bigger and stronger. But at the same time I wouldn't want my friend who weighs 50 lbs more than me to think that we're at the same level of strength because he can bench as much as me. But like I said and I'm short and biased.

This seems insanely low, though I haven't been lifting for long. If I switched to a barbell would my bench stay at 70lb or does the weight distribution make it easier (or harder) to lift more weight?

Seems like I never see guys dumbbell pressing with 100lb dumbbells even though lots of guys can put up at least 2pl8.

This guy doesn't apply. He doesn't actually lift. He exclusively benches or does exercises to improve his bench. It's like bragging that you can do 15 pull ups if you weigh 130 pounds versus bragging you can do 15 pull ups if you're a 300 pound 6'4 monster. Bodyweight as a measurement of strength breaks down as you escape DYEL.

If you weigh 180, 365 is a pretty damn advanced bench for a natural.
