When it's beach season I'll shave my back every few weeks. I don't try and keep it baby smooth, I obviously have a hairy chest and legs, (and ass) but I just want to cut it down a little to show tone. I don't even really care when it starts to grow back, just hit it every few weeks.

Use a BakBlade, super easy.

I trim pubes a bit but that's it, no shaving anywhere else.

When I was younger I was paranoid when I got a hairy ass that no woman would be with me . . . 50 trim later and I have pretty much forgotten that was even a thing.
