What's /fit/'s opinion of Stronglifts 5x5? I barely see it mentioned on here for some reason. I'm about a month into it and really starting to hit the plateau, but I've never lifted before this. Does anybody have any advice, warnings, or supplemental exercises to this program? Thanks.

>never lifted before
>a month into StrongLifts
>plateauing
literally how, how much are you lifting and what is your diet like. SL5x5 is a beginners program, one month should not put you at a plateau

Alan Thrall has some incredibly helpful videos on youtube for getting form down, learning cues, etc. Highly recommend watching them

I've strictly kept to the 5x5 routine for a while now.
A. Squat, Deadlift, The Press
B. Squat, Barbell rows, Bench press
ABABABx
I want to start incorporating isolation lifts and other ones but not sure which ones and in what routine.
So far I've considered dumbbell flies, leg extensions, and barbell curls. Can't really do chinups or dips unless I go an hour before closing because leglets always take all three of them up.

umm no it says " 3 NON-consecutive days "
which means you train 3 days per week not 6 days.
week 1 : axbxaxx
week 2 : bxaxbxx
etc.
etc.
Don't tell me you've been training fullbody 6 days per week as a novice... you need to let your body grow on rest days
dont do SL, it wasted all my newbie gains!
do SS instead much more efficient.

Uhhh..... technically five days a week but yeah.

Anon, your body builds muscle during rest, if you hit the gym erryday you won't grow.
You need to take rest days for your body to build new muscle.
who gives a fuck it's a novice routine, you'll be on it for a few months tops
who cares if it's suboptimal (it is)
also stalling in a month wtf, if you started from the bar (which I think SL has you do irrc) that's only like 105lbs for squat

minimalist cookie cutter bullshit program marketed to the biggest portion of lifters, written by a business jew that doesnt even lift.
ass some accesories (which is ICF and u should just run that)
or run the age old, time tested program starting strength, and read the acctual book

You can't fucking WASTE noob gains you mong

>it's a notice routine
>Who gives a fuck?
Uh, novices?
doing SL aswell
what lifts should i get to before switching the routine lads?
>>41199937
Like I said, I'm about a month and a half in. I'm squatting 150lbs, which isn't quite my max yet I don't think. All I'm doing is following the workouts the app spits out at me.

dat photo doe
>bench 3pl8
>deadlift 1pl8
Why would anyone follow some muslims programm with no actual lifting experience over Rippetits?
>>41199972
novices would be better off just training hard instead of worrying about optimizing programs when they'll make gains doing absolutely anything at this point provided they eat a calorie surplus and don't bench with the bar on their head or something
