Are USAPL nazis about how you stand on the scale?
If I stand normally I'm 220.6, but if I lock my right knee and slightly bend my left knee I'm 216.4. I mean 4lbs could be the difference between making weight or not after my bulk when I try to compete at 105kg.

All of which is beside the fact that it's 1730 reps of programmed work, even if you swap out stuff you don't tolerate well, that's fucking 72 reps of auxiliary work every workout, AFTER the main lifts.

>that retarded attempt at an arch while ending up with no arch
you get pain in your shoulder because just look at how you bench;
1. you lower the bar on your lower pec, this is good
2. the second you start pressing you shift it above your shoulders with your elbows flared instead pressing in a curve from the lower pec towards your face gradually

#2 is why your shoulder hurts
>>
>>41193603
You need to bench less and shoulder press more. And get someone to hand off.

Idk about the pain but it seems like you're not just sinking the bar, you seem to be heaving. Maybe that's causing the pain, idk

Nothing I can do about that, but what you call that retarded attempt is the only reason my shoulders are not dead, reduces the pain by a lot
>2. the second you start pressing you shift it above your shoulders with your elbows flared instead pressing in a curve from the lower pec towards your face gradually

>You need to bench less and shoulder press more. And get someone to hand off.
I shoulder press 3 times a week and I can ohp 70kgs for 3 reps while my bench is 105kg for 1.

2 pl8 for almost 3 months is pretty good considering that I've never squatted plus box squats are harder than free squats and I do them with perfect form.
>>
>>41193779
>>41193603
Also if that's anything I get pain in the exact same spot also only on my left shoulder when doing dips it's just 10 times worse on dips, so I stopped doing them.
>>
>>41193779
Ok since you're disregarding all that, the next step is start training in a shirt or take a break before you seriously fuck up your rotator cuff.
>>
>>41193855
I didn't disregard anything what are you talking about?
>>
>>41193817
You are trolling at this point, if you weren't before. Your form sucks, and an adult male should be box squatting 315+ for reps unequipped. You will never be an acceptable powerlifter.
>>
>>41193890
We told you what to do and your response is that you're already doing those things. Go see a doctor if it really hurts that bad, and he will tell you to stop benching.
>>
>>41193905
I dont get what you are saying. How can you tell how my form is? I record myself always in the last set to see how my form is and still remains almost perfect beltless. You are saying that 3 months for 2 pl8 is slow progress? In 2 months max I will get to 3 pl8 and hop to texas, I dont get your useless comments.
>>
>>41193817
I guarantee you free squat less than you box squat
>>
>>41193937
But then if I'm doing already what you said, then how am I disregarding what you said. The only thing I'm not doing is slowly moving bar towards my head which I'm gonna try. I don't know why you gotta be so rude when I asked for help.
>>
>>41194000
Probably yes but because I got very specific with box squats, but changing over for a few weeks and I definitely squat more.
>>
lads. can you bulletpoint why 5/3/1 is bad exactly. some anon in another thread is shilling it but Ive never run it so I dont know how to dispute him
>>
>>41194000
Plus BS have more carryover to deadlifts, and my DL is going up super fast. 3 Pl8 in 2 1/2 months and the bar still moves fast as fuck.
>>
>>41194032
It's good beginner routine tho
>>
>>41194032
he ripped off BFS (the hs football program he did when he played) and neutered it
went from 2 main lifts a day to 1, so lower frequency of exposure to the lifts
removed the high-rep week for a deload, so less hypertrophy
put in sissy big jumps in the ramping so "3x5" becomes "2 warmup sets of 5 and then another set"
used a stupid 90% training max so that 3rd set of 3x5 (which the first two are just ball-less warmups) is 8+ reps
basically it's so south of vag that it became "accessory lifts: the program"
had to invent shit like joker sets or first set last to solve the problem of low working volume of the lifts
>>
>>41194032
>>41194099
if you want to try BFS-style work to see how badly wendler fucked it, here's an approximation
> SIX main lifts, THREE workouts a week. Squat and Bench on Monday, Clean and Dead on Wednesday, Front Squat or Box Squat and Board Bench or Close Grip Bench on Friday
> do 3x3 in week 1, no training max bullshit, add weight each set, the first set is sorta tough the last is hard to make 3-4 reps
> do 5x5 in week 2, same as above. 3x5 if you lack time
> do 5-4-3-2-1 in week 3, add weight each set, the first set is sorta tough the last is a grinder. 5-3-1 if you lack time
> do 10-8-6 in week 4, add weight each set. Clean and Dead do 4-4-2. You know the drill, add weight, first set sorta tough, last set a grind
> each week is on it's own progression, no training max percentages
> do 2-3 auxiliary lifts each day for 2x10 or thereabouts. rows, chins, dips, pullups, all compounds like that, maybe some olympic stuff like snatch or jerk but do those 2x5
> oh yeah, on Tue and Thur do some conditioning, track work, sprints, or plyos

That's the program wendler ripped off and ruined. Try it instead.

I'm not the guy making fun of your bar path or arch (although I don't understand why you setup the way you do). I said you need more shoulder press (I don't believe you train that lift 3 times a week but if you do that's also retarded). Basically you just have weak shoulders. Oh, and get somebody to fucking hand off the bar.

>>
>>41193603
Grab the bar, row yourself into position and hold that tight scapula pinch throughout. You lose all tightness in the bottom, collapse, then push. This is kind of a meme but think about rowing the bar to you (it helps, seriously) and just try to touch your tshirt with it on the pause, then you push, keeping your back the exact same way. If all you focus on during bench is your shoulder blades, you'll probably do alright.

Stop pulling memestance and start pulling like a real deadlifter.

Without memes, I don't think I've ever seen a highish rep set of conventional that didn't involve progressive rounding unless we're talking about like Misha or something.
>>
>>41196974
But, anon, I pull conventional. Sumo is for cheaters.
>>
>>41196959
Looks more like a shit start position imo. When you first set up you get really close to a neutral spine then lose it when you pull. Try setting your back at the top of the rep then go down and pull. Kind of like haack but actually get tight.
>>
>>41196959
Ugh, revising my comments. You fucking start rounded you fucking guy. Stop resting in a rounded position, stick your ass back and get a real hinge, and what the fuck are you looking at? Keep your neck flat.

Basically just never pull like that again and never post anything this awful again. This wasn't a conditioning issue, this was a terrible form issue.

This program is a weird feel, almost vommited from the squats

At least at first, not terribly different from your highbar. I would say that the thing I benefit the most from after a HB cycle is a nice flat-backed upright torso. If I see gains in quad strength they're overshadowed by my ability to fight forward collapse coming out of the holle.

Why do you guys think in SS rippetoe has you deadlift once every nine days but then on TM it becomes once a week?

>>
how do i stop being a fat piece of shit

>>
>>41197739
>Why do you guys think in SS rippetoe has you deadlift once every nine days but then on TM it becomes once a week?
>deadlift once every nine days

Even on the most "advanced" version of the program you're deadlifting at least once every 3 days. So I don't know what led you to that conclusion.
>>
>>41197739
SS - deadlift every 9 days, each time its a new pr, each time its after a fuckload of squat sessions, as well as the fact that for beginners deadlift doesnt need as high of frequency
TM - Lifts are more devloped, the total frequency is higher, intensity is lower to allow for more volume
>>41197797
SS is for everyone because Rippletits thinks everyone should have a basic understanding of the basic movements and a starting base for strength, SS is to get you used to the core movements, and build a solid foundation on which to build
TM is for more serious lifters because it develops beyond a beginner phase, requires you to actually program, follows more advanced concepts, and is a intermediate program, for people who are serious about getting stronger
any jackass can run SS and make gains when they first walk into a gym. you have to have at least 2 brain cells and want to get stronger for TM to work
>>
>>41197804
Nope. That's in stage 2.
At stage 3 you alternate Dl with PC, hence each is only performed every nine days.
>>
>>41197828
>>41197835
also this, i forgot that powerclean gets added. TM has no cleans, so the total volume/frequency of pulling motions actually goes down
>>
>>41197849
Tm has cleans and snatches as part of volume days pulls.
Usually puts cleans on bench day and snatches on press day.

Try internally rotating your wrist more when you grip so that it lies across the meaty flesh next to the thumb. >Can only front squat comfortably and vertically but upper back fails before legs

I have two options;

I follow Nuckols for squats right now, should I do something for front squats where I exclusively do lower reps to avoid back fatigue?

Do I just try a lower bar position instead but the same way as normal rather than pushing hips back etc? I wonder if this would make me more upright if I'm pitched forward?

>>
>>41200188
i find it improbable that ankle mobility is your problem for high bar but you can front squat comfortably and vertically.
you probably have tight hips etc
ankle mobility is more of an issue for front squats than high bar back squats
>>
>>41197860
This the oldest and gayest version of TM
>>
>>41200300

I thought that the reason it could be ankle would be because you can almost have the weight further back on foot in a front squat and still be vertical, which requires less ankle dorsiflexion than a back squat where the weight has to be kept more forward?

I have no idea why I can't squat, all of the articles I read tell me that if I can goblet squat, I should be able to back squat, my goblet squat looks and feels great but my back squat doesn't.

I think it could be possible that it's tightness somewhere when I hold the bar during backsquats? Maybe I lack the ability to retract shoulders a lot without them rounding forward slightly. This wouldn't show in a goblet squat.

How could I address this ?

you miss point, height isnt a factor, you should know that only things that matter are leverages

you can be 5'0 with long femurs, and im 6'3 with short

I win

While that is true in theory in reality no 6'3 person has short femurs since height gain is more likely to be in femur length than in torso length

I have never ever seen a tall guy with relatively short femurs but im sure a few exist

yeh shirt femurs on a tall dude are the same length or longer than long femurs on a short one

not to say thats gonna hold you back. tons of super tall people are strong as shit. isnt pete rubish like 6'2?

I look at the weight when squattibg, I imagine that if I don't succeed future gains will go away. Get mad for trying to pussy out then do Squatrage. For diddy I just channel my inner autism and listen to k-pop
