yeah i've never like this. gender isn't a social construct, at least not how i learned it. when we studied gender we learned that it's a psychosocial phenomenon that involves neurobiology, a psychological sense of self and one's place in a society of people. gender roles are the purely social aspect that can be considered a social construct, but even those may have some roots in biology and the like.

i'm a fucking girl, and there's nothing i can do to change this. and who are you, who is anyone, to challenge my subjective experience of self that can't even be known by another? it can't ever be adequately expressed, as it's all my own. and sometimes this is very lonely, especially when there are people that insist i'm crazy or making it all up.

and what about the social aspect? i'm a girl 24/7, in life. i work somewhere i can express my feminity. most of my coworkers are women, and we're in the field of caring for people. i choose this work because i get to express that side of myself. compassion, understanding, and empathy. maybe this seems silly to you or whatever, but it's so nice that i get to express this side of myself. not that men can't have those same desires, but it is interesting that only one of my coworkers in the same position is male.

i think transgender people are abnormal. it's almost like we are a third gender, being sort of stuck between the two. and each trans person is a different sort of trans. i feel strongly psychologically female with a very strong desire to express my femininity in a social way, despite being limited by my male biology.

the fact is, we still know very little about gender. we don't know what causes gender dysphoria. it's likely we will need to study it for more than a century before we know enough to speak with any sort of authority. my opinion on the matter is that we're all a big question mark, and it's a silly to insist we know one way or another. but in the meantime, i do understand my personal experiences pretty well. and i know i'm happier being a girl, and i think of myself as a woman without being provoked to do so by some outside force.

so just be nice to us. maybe it will turn out in the end that we're lost souls, and there's some neurochemical "fix" for what we are. desu i don't feel like i need fixing, but you never know.

HRT and surgeries are reasonably effective in alleviating the negative parts of gender dysphoria, though this isn't true for every single person.

I can dig you up some studies if you want but, as a starter, I'd like to offer some evidence via application.

What I mean is you can see the differences in thinking between how men and women excel in certain areas and not others.

For example, chess players. Nearly all (And like, a massive majority) of extremely high level chess players are males, this links back to our style of thinking, we are better at straightforward problem solving and that is basically what chess is.

Also, IQ tests, men tend to score higher (Fun fact though, we also score more often on the extremely low end, women IQ tests seem to be fairly consistent, most women tend to score around the same area, whereas male scores are much more spread out, but our average is still higher)

Now, IQ tests are not really a good indicator of intelligence, but they do have some use, and that is that they are a great indicator of problem solving and pattern recognition abilities, since IQ tests are basically just a bunch of questions where you need to work out the sequence.

So while they aren't a great indicator of overall intelligence they do show that men tend to have better problem solving abilities, tied to us being linear thinking because we approach the patterns in a more systematic and compartmentalized way.
