I have a really bad glute and abdominal imbalance so getting into depth when I start getting fatigued gets hard. Feels like my left hip flexor is gonna cramp cause it's being a bitch.

Recently trying to do more rehab work and isos but I'm still not quite sure why I feel like cramping even after I'm warmed up AND stretched out properly.

If you're trying for a recomp you'll slowly get stronger and slowly get leaner, as long as you don't mind autistic levels of calorie management

In any aspect of fitness dedicating yourself completely to one thing will take away from another, and to do two things at once will result in sub optimal progression in both. You could get leaner faster by cutting vs recomp, but you'd get weaker

The depth and form in the screenshot is fine, it's a matter of maintaining that form on working sets that may be an issue

There's a line between being a bitch and stopping something that's just genuinely not worth it. If you can make similar squat gains doing anything other than smolov i'd say go for the other thing

Okay so buttwink seems solvable. But foward lean is probably what will fuck me up.

In all honestly I just want to be able to max out to something decent. I have a max at 315 that's actually worthy of depth. But anything else I attempted didn't count now that you guys made me realize how bad my depth is.

The main thing for me is just to say I did it. I always quit for most of my life because I grew up like a bitch. So if I can at least if I can stick it out ill try. So far I've had no injuries or any negative repercussions. Only issue is definitely my depth and the foward lean. But are these things that will completely result in a major disaster for me? Am I too far gone to be saved in the program?

Iktfb, I ran the base cycle a few months back for this exact reason. Squat went up 30lbs in 3 weeks

honestly if form and depth are similar to how they look in the screenshots, stick it out until the end of the base cycle, You'll make more well rounded progress on something less advanced by not having to specialise in squats 100%

I'm just gonna finish the base and try for my max next week then call it quits. You guys have given me some great advice and a good consensus as to my progress so far. Assuming I don't start getting lazy, Ill try to actually follow a good program that is going to give me better results than a peaking program I'm not even supposed to be doing to begin with.

It was worth a shot though. I love this thing. Maybe in the future when I'm not a huge scrub and got better mobility ill go for the full 13 weeks.

I've tried Nuckols beginner and SS etc and unless I have perfect sleep and eating lots of food, it's impossible to make progress.

I wonder if moving to intermediate routines for more volume would help me progress more smoothly?

I own a neck harness and a self made wrist roller

In my honest opinion you should make your own wrist roller. Its dirt cheap and I've made such huge grip and forearm mass gains. Unbelievable.

The neck harness sucks balls to do but yeah, after a few weeks I have gotten a much thicker neck.

It's not really specific enough for being included in most powerlifting programs. It's a good variation for more general strength training tho.
It's a more difficult front squat basically, so limitations are back and arms. Imho it's likely they felt so good because it forced you to use your back and hips properly - e.g. you can see some people fold over entirely in a back squat and stay upright and rigid in a front squat because it puts a different stress on your back.

I don't remember exactly the figures found in studies, but 0.7% BW loss per week is better than 1.4% for trained powerlfiters (study on Norwegians). The slower the cut is, the less muscle will you lose, but you have to consider whether you'll be better off cutting fast and getting back to a small surplus or spending more time in a small caloric deficit.
