I currently do a full body calisthenics routine. Up until now, I've just done a 10 minute aerobics and stretching warm-up. But I'm starting to hit some heavier duty movements and I wonder if it's time to incorporate warm-up sets. My biggest concern is time. I currently hit 3 sets of 4 to 8 reps with 6 major movements every workout, and this tends to take 45 minutes to an hour. How would I incorporate warm-up sets without making my workouts significantly longer? Do I need to do warm-up sets with each different movement? How do I learn to conserve my energy for max effort on my main movements?
Current workout is:
5 second eccentric pull ups for 4x3
Seated pistol squats for 4x3
Diamond pushups for 4x3
Hanging bent leg raises for 5x3
Inverse rows for 4x3
Bent waist handstand PUs for 5x3

How the fuck are you gonna warm up bodyweight exercises you fucking fuck
>>41135779
Buy using easier earlier progressions of the exercise you fucking fuck.

Your bodyweight is your bodyweight. It's not going to be easier or harder. Kill your self. I hope you don't go to a gym and take up space doing this crap.

A single easy set with relatively high weight.
Pushups
Situps
Chinups
Squats
Bridges
Then go into your workout.

So do one set of each of movements all in succession before doing any of the main sets at all?
>>41135852
Maybe I wrote it backwards. Those are all 3 sets of 4 or 5 reps.

>4-5 reps.
Still fucking trash. Your upper body works best with reps 8-20 with diamond pushups.

We'll I'm not there yet anon. Besides, I think it's more beneficial to progress to something like uneven pushups and beyond rather than keep cranking out more reps. I'm working purely on strength. Your rudeness doesn't bother me ;)

Haven't you plateaued already?

I'm hitting much slower progression now which leads me to believe im finally hitting some early intermediate level movements and that implies I should start taking warmup sets seriously. As far as there not being more progressions available, not at all. I've still got plenty of much more difficult movements I can progress to. It's gonna be a while, for example, before I can do one arm pushups, pistol squats, or handstand pushups.

You can do something like knee push ups as a warm up but I really dont think its necessary. You are doing such basic exercises that theres not much to warm up. Perhaps do some jumping jacks to get the blood flowing at best.
