Similar story, but the other way around. I thought I was 6'0 since that's what I was when I was 18 and had my last physical. My height came up in conversation with my wife's family and they all said that can't be because I'm noticeable taller than my father in law (who is 6 ft).

Well, measuring tape was brought out and two lives changed. Turns out my father in law is 5'11 and I'm 6'2. Apparently, I've grown in my 20s and he either shrank or just lies about height.

here's my story, I was in a similar situation.

at the early age of 20 I joined this insecure homosexual community of /fit/ and fell for that SS meme and all of that. I thought I was 5'10 turns out when I measured my height like 2 years later I was 5'8. I felt bad mainly because /fit/ makes you feel this way. people who are insecure about their heights don't go out too much, because if you do go out ... you will realize girls don't give a flying fuck about your height. tall people might feel that girls do, but that's probably cause they unattractive and their only attractive feature is their height and girls are like "wow you're so tall".

but I never made peace with my height, and I always believed that I will keep growing. so I measured my height again later on 6 months after the 5'8 one, and I was 5'9. at exactly 175 cm.
