hi /fit
i'm relatively new to working out, and i'm looking for advice.
i workout about 2-3 times a week, and eat pretty well. i've been trying to work my upper body and build some muscle, but i haven't seen a lot of results.
i'm definitely leaner and have more strength, but i'm having trouble packing on the lbs
i allso want to lose some fat around my waist/love handles, but don't want to run to become even more skinny.
any advice?

This is why. Results take time. You won't look good for a few years.

"packing on the lbs" and losing fat are separate goals and can't both be achieved at the same time naturally.

Pick which goal is more important to you right now and adjust your calorie intake accordingly

ok makes sense. i've been at it for almost a year but i guess i have to be patient. thanks

If your diet hasn't been catered to a specific goal, then your results won't have been optimal.

what food should i be eating if i want to gain muscle? what food should i be avoiding?
>>
Its more about calorie intake and getting enough protein.

There are plenty of apps (myfitnesspal for example) and online calculators that help you figure out how many calories you need to be eating to work towards your goal.

Specific types of food is not vastly important. Obviously healthy foods help your wellbeing so it pays off to eat them.

>>
>>41064013

No, carbs are helpful in aiding workouts.
Just don't binge on them.
