In society today, you don't need strength, and all girls in clubs want guys taller than them in heels, which I will never be at 5'5, so you don't get girls as a manlet.
So why am I going to the gym, I feel I am going mad, literally nothing to gain, its just a ritual at this point..

Sounds like you need to try harder at mental self improvement . Wear shoe lift inserts and boots something like this and you'd be like 5'8.5" then once you get your confidence stop wearing them. you'll see it's a crutch you didn't need
