Do any other /fit/izens make milk kefir for those intestinal flora gains?
My kefir is so thick I can't even strain it, I just pick out the kefir grains and transfer them. I started with about 2 teaspoons, and now I have over a cup of kefir grains and they are multiplying rapidly.

>acquire kefir grains from your friendly local hippy (or etsy)
>place them in a jar of whole milk on your counter
>wait 24 hours
>strain them and put them into a new jar of whole milk
>do this every day for ~ month
>now you have a cup of kefir grains that will chew through several cups of whole milk in a day creating a super thick kefir
>if your grains multiply too much, just eat the excess grains

you can buy shitty kefir that's been refrigerated/frozen/left out in the heat, who knows for like 300x more money

greek yogurt has two types of probiotics in it while kefir is a SCOBY with 30 different types of bacteria and yeasts working together in harmony

>working together in harmony
doesn't always mean they play nice with others
Is Trader Joes Kefir brand any good? Seen it the other day
>>41028152
just make your own, it's literally no harder than making tea
>>41026303
Actually yes, I make my own. Kefir is great.
I just occasinally discard extensive grains.

I think they are delicious and chewy
Although I feel guilty eating the poor things after they've done so much work for me
>>41028178
Never tried that, I figured it could cause harm or something. Might do now though. Might makes right, little germs.
